Very frustrating.

Moved in to my property 8 months ago and all channels functioned perfectly. have set receiver to C60 and BBC and only BBC channels disappear. This has only been a problem from June. Annoying to say the least!

I live at BN32RP

Sometime yesterday (Friday 27th Dec 2013) we lost all free view signal at home in Worthing. I believe we're pointed at Whitehawk Hill in Brighton, which allegedly has no issues.

I have tried retuning the digital channels on the TV and it finds nothing.

Our ariel looks OK visually and the cabling has not been touched for months.

I've seen reports that EE were switching on 4G in Brighton & Hove sometime in December - could this be our issue ?

Ian: The easiest way (albeit not 100% accurate) to determine if a problem is caused by 4G is to try a test by "manually" tuning in the highest mux channel used by a station and making a note of the signal level received, in your case this indeed being BBC1, then proceed to do likewise with the second highest and so on, if on completion the signal strength of the muxes is seen to reduce as the channels numbers go up then 4G should be suspected.

This form of test only being applicable to stations where all muxes used by same are rated with the same output.

I've also had interference and loss of channels over the last few days. Varying between 0 and 30 channels being discovered, and all have interference.

JB38 - thanks for your suggestions, but our TV doesn't have that functionality.

D Grist: Do you still have BBC1 &2 and ITV in the channel list? Or do they now appear in the 800s as working channels? The Tunbridge Wells transmitter was off the air for a short time yesterday, it is possible that if a re-tune was carried out ( automatically prompted upon losing signal with some receivers) the services were either lost from the channel list or alternative frequencies were stored, which might deliver signals below the threshold for reliable reception. Try selecting the manual tune option, if available and insert C52. If good signal strength and quality are showing this will confirm that the correct signal is available to your receiver, so this should be selected and stored. Repeat for C49 for ITV.

I've just tried a 4G filter from Homebase - it's not helped. A retune can result in different channels from one moment to the next, but never the full complement and never without high levels of inference. Would be interested to know of others in the Hove area are experiencing the same problem.

Paul Evans: Why the hell would you buy a 4G filter when you can call at800 and get a filter for free - that is, if you are actually affected by 4G.

And instead of asking the question on an internet forum, why not ask your immediate neighbours to see if they are experiencing the same kind of interference lately.

Michael: Because I can go round the corner and buy one, rather than wait a week for a filter to be delivered. Plus, we have 2 televisions and they will only give you one for free. As for the neighbors - Sky and Virgin customers, so they can't help!
