Dave:

You don't say when you lost the HD channels.
I can't find any listing of current or recent faults.
As you can see from the post before yours, the transmitter was listed for Planned Engineering, although it is no longer, work may not have been completed and there may have been service interruptions.

There's also been some residual weather related Tropospheric Ducting in recent days which can affect reception because of interference being received from more distant transmitters in Europe or the UK - not all multiplexes are necessarily affected, but this isn't normally sustained for any lengthy periods,

If you retuned at all when you had no signal or badly pixellated pictures - this is never advised if you were correctly tuned initially, as it usually just clears the correct tuning, then you'd need to retune again when signals are normal. You may have to try several times as you won't known when that may be. I suggest you try a manual retune on UHF C36.

If you are still having problems, check with a near neighbour if they have the same issue. Check your aerial looks intact and your downlead isn't flapping in the wind, and all you coax plugs are inserted correctly. if the problem continues, post back with more detail about your aerial installation, amps/splitters etc and a full postcode so we can check predicted reception.

Whitehawk Hill BBC B HD multiplex (UHF Ch 36) sound delayed 0.5 second wrt vision. Fault started yesterday lunchtime ish. Fault manifested on a Sony and a Samsung TV. Problem affects all HD and SD channels on that multiplex. Other multiplexes from same Transmitter location are not similarly affected.

Emma Atkinson :

Hi Emma. The BBC are reporting a fault -
From 1:13pm on 5th Jul 2023 BBC B HD Poor quality due to a fault
It looks as though they've only more recently listed this, but as it is known it'll no doubt get fixed asap.
Do NOT retune.

Margaret Bacon: Since about Saturday there has been high pressure causing reception issues across much of the country. The effect is to cause signals from distant transmitters to travel much further. These can be from elsewhere in the UK or abroad, and when the signal is on the same frequency as the transmitter one is tuned to then this can result in picture break-up or no reception at all, depending on how strong the interfering signal is.

If you are using the Whitehawk Hill transmitter then in order to restore ITV, C4, C5 etc. then you should carry out a manual scan of UHF channel 35. If the interference is still there then you may find you can't tune it in, in which case you will have to try again at some later time.

Margaret Bacon:

The important point to note about any disruption to your signals whether it be caused by Engineering, Faults, or Weather conditions, is that if you know you were correctly tuned to start with, then Do NOT Retune. (You can't tune to signals that aren't there or have severe interference.). Often under those conditions it'll clear your correct tuning so you have to repeat try until you get them back, which in a worst case could be some time!!

Hi wonder if you can help we have lost all BBC channels
Tried digital auto tuning but still no BBC channels. Is this due to the weather?
