Hi, I was wondering if there is work going on at winter bill during the night? The reason I ask this question is because I don't sleep much during the night and I put my television on but more often than not i get the message no signal, it mostly happens between 2am to 5am. Thank you.

Valerie Williams: Transmitter work very rarely takes place overnight as the engineers cannot see what they are doing in the dark. A more likely explanation is that you're getting local electrical interference from something operating overnight (probably on a timer).

StevensOnln1: Sorry for the tardy response. Post code here is WA13 and house is in direct sight of Winter Hill so we were away at the weekend and all preset recordings have failed with total breakup of picture on 7th 8th and 9th Dec but tonight they all work perfectly as I write this. Finally the aerial cables have not been touched whilst we were away.

Bob McCulloch: The first half of your postcode covers a wide area, we need a full postcode (or one from a shop/pub/garage etc nearby) to get a result from the coverage checker. Did you actually check the cables by unplugging and reinserting them?

Bob McCulloch: and Valerie Williams:

I suggest that as the Engineering work this week lists the effect as "Possible weak signal" then this could well persist overnight.
It could be work on the transmitters themselves rather than the aerial system but that also might depend on the precise nature of any aerial work.

All my devices are tuned to Winterhill tx. Looking at the above list of Uhf channel numbers seems to bear no relation to the received channels. Mine starts as ch 31 37 49 55 57 58 etc. Are you sure you have the correct Winter Hill channels? They look a bit like moel-y-parc. e.g I have no 34 35 29
