Peter Wingrove: You are only predicted to get good reception of the PSB multiplexes from the temporary mast at Bilsdale Quarry, this may improve when the second temporary mast enters services from the main Bilsdale site, however there are no predictions available. The only other transmitter predicted to be available is Masham which only broadcasts the PSB multiplexes.

Peter Wingrove:

Unfortunately neither Arqiva or Freeview (on the FAQ page), have listed the UHF channel numbers for this Masham relay. If an auto retune doesn't work yo may have to try a manual retune. Ring the helpline 0800 121 4828 and ask them for the UHF channel numbers for Masham.

George Bunyan:

I assume you only need one UHF channel to use, presumably similar to just one being used with your analogue modulator. I would pick any channel above UHF C60 - well away and above any being used by Bilsdale.
If per chance you are thinking of combining an aerial signal with that for your upstairs TV, you should make sure the signal is not too large which could desensitise/overload the TV tuner and result in your aerial signals having problems.

George Bunyan: In theory you should be anything from UHF channel 32 to 38 as Bilsdale doesn't use any of those, however in practice it may depend on whether you can also receive signals from any other transmitters which could interfere. If you enter your postcode into the Freeview detailed checker (see link below) it will show you all of the transmitters predicted to be receivable at your location and the frequencies/UHF channel numbers used by each of them.

Just a reminder, as my last post with the information was a while back, that -
Bilsdale's UHF channels are C27, C24, C21, C43, C46, C40, C55 that's in the multiplex order
BBC A/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBC B HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ARQ A/COM5, ARQ B/COM6, COM 7
The Local multiplex L-MDB is on C30 and generally beamed northwards towards Middlesbrough.
(These are the same channels that have always been used at Bilsdale since 2020 and currently used by the new temporary Bilsdale Tower transmitter).
