So, for example the Loftus relay only serves a large town? I don't think so!
There's a few coastal locations that can get good signals from Pontop Pike.
Some places a bit further inland could be quite variable.
But as you haven't given a postcode or even nearby location, it's pointless trying to comment further.

June Thomas:

The report immediately prior to your post will be confusing because it actually refers to the original main transmitter mast.

The current temporary Bilsdale Tower is seperate.
Freeview are reporting "There are currently live outages in your area."
And the BBC have reported -
From 12:06am on 11th Jan 2023 BBC A Off the air due to essential engineering

It's possible that more multiplexes other than the BBCA multiplex (the main BBC SD channels) may be off-air depending on the nature of the engineering. This is obviously urgent unplanned engineering and I would expect signals to return as soon as they can complete the work. Do NOT retune, it will most likely just clear your correct tuning and you'll have to repeat it then when signals are back -and you won't be certain when that'll be!

If you have a smart TV and a reasonable internet connection, try the streaming services. A lot give the ability to watch live TV as well as on-demand programmes.

Well there is no coverage from temporary masts in plenty of rural areas away from towns, and there certainly isn't any here so not sure why I need to explain all that when the question is about when the rebuilt full size one might be live.
If nobody knows or they won't say then that's the answer isn't it.

It's no good moaning at me, or anyone else here., especially as you haven't said where you are, I can't give any technical help. I gave you one example of a temporary relay that wasn't serving a large town!

You know about the Arqiva Bilsdale Helpsite, whilst that hasn't really had much of an update as you know, if you phone the help number 0800 121 4828 there is a pre-recorded message with the latest information and you can leave your details for them to call you back.

The latest information in the public domain was back in November AFAIK, you should have seen it in the MSM eg. -

I have not been able to access free view channels since the Bilsdale mast fire. I would like to know if the mast is repaired. If it is then I require an engineer to help me set up my television. I have not seen a local news bulletin for almost 3 years now!

Bernard Coyne: The has been no announcement of a completion date yet for the replacement Bilsdale transmitter mast. Freeview and DAB are still being broadcast from a number of temporary transmitters, including the shorter temporary tower next to the replacement tower.

Arqiva have setup a dedicated website with updates on the replacement mast and information on the help schemes for viewers who have lost reception since the fire (see link below).

Latest update from Arqiva on the replacement mast being brought into service (posted as a popup overlay on Bad Request

The new mast at Bilsdale is now nearing completion and we plan to start broadcasting TV services from the mast again within the next few weeks.
Viewers do not need to take any action yet.

When the mast is live, over 99% of households are expected to have their core TV services restored, either automatically or following a retune.

A small number of households, fewer than 0.5% of the total served by the new mast, may not automatically benefit from the signals from the new mast. Arqiva has written to these households - which received in-home support from its TV engineers as part of Project Restore - to advise them they may be affected and what they need to do if they notice a loss of TV services once the mast goes live.

Another small number of households may temporarily lose access to HD services for a few weeks while the additional antenna is installed on the new mast. These channels will still be available in standard definition.

Latest update from Arqiva:

The new Bilsdale mast is scheduled to begin transmitting TV signals on Monday 22 May.

From early morning on Monday 22 May, most viewers' TVs and set top boxes should automatically receive the new signals from the 300m tall structure.

Any viewers experiencing loss of service after Monday 22 May should first perform a retune/rescan, and if problems persist call the Project Restore Helpline on 0800 121 4828.

A small number of households may temporarily lose HD services for a few weeks until additional antenna are installed, however all HD channels can be watched in Standard Definition in the interim.
