CFBlackhurst: "After the PSB multiplexes switch at The Wrekin, the Arqiva multiplexes will remain on their pre-switchover frequencies and powers, and SDN will use a temporary frequency, for a short period before all three multiplexes adopt their final frequencies and powers during September 2011. During this transition period the commercial multiplexes will use the following frequencies: SDN ch49 and ch31 (both 2kW), Arqiva A ch57 (not 53) (1kW), Arqiva B ch53 (not 57) (1kW)."

HI,
Live in Wombourne quite high up and have a clear view to the Wrekin (18.1 miles away according to GoogleEarth)
I was using brierly hill and have now re-aimed (and rotated) my aerial to the wrekin, but no longer have Dave, etc.
Are the 'commercial' MUX not at full power yet ?
Any help would be appreciated, before I get back on the roof and swap back to B.Hill !
Thanks
Paul

Paul - see note in bold text above re low power from Wrekin until Sept. Though I get them OK from further away.
But your aerial is probably not a correct gropu for Ch53/57
From the link BH still seems best. Why did you change? (LL145HD)

B.hill is a bit behind a hill to us and due to its low power we get channels dropping and epg probs. Thought i was being clever !.
Aerial is wideband, but is a screwfix special, maybe should have spent more?

The wolfbane link thinks you should be OK, but if your postcode area is large you may be in a bad bit.
How have you optimised your aerial pointing? Harder to do without special equipment. And do you have a new direct feed coax from aerial to TV?
What do neighbours experience?
You could use two aerials - one V one H. Some boxes accommodate dual feed ins - if not, plug in/out.
And finally, IMHO what you pay an aerial fitter for is local knowledge, as well as clambering around!

I have a direct line to the wrekin, and on a clear day can actually see it, so aiming was easy !.
The cable was replaced several years ago, and may be the culprit together with a cheap aerial.
My neighbour has what looks like a standard Yagi18 and gets the channels I am missing, but with a very blocky signal.
I think once September comes and the signals reach their final levels all will be fine.
I get 70% upwards on signal strength and perfect results in the main.
I am going to replace the cables with new GOOD quality as a starter and will get a better quality aerial as the Screwfix specials are (literally) tin foil!

Paul: You are not predicted to get the commercial multiplexes until 28th September 2011, when they go to full power on the final channel allocations.

Paul - try a cheap booster amp - might make a critical difference.
Or a masthead!
Or ask local ae fitters what they can do for how much. You may get useful advice for free!

Thanks for all your help, due to it being a bit Windy I will may not be on the roof today & will report back soon.
As I can get the commercial channels from B.Hill (albeit a bit dodgy) I will swap back for now, and then move back to the Wrekin in September.
