Recently bought digital stream HD box.
HD tuned in straight away (very good picture!)but lost them two days ago.
Now retuned as suggested and the four HD channels aren't even listed?
Any ideas?

Andy Jessop: If Belmont is your transmitter you will have to wait for switchover on Wednesday 17th August 2011 to receive Freeview HD.

A couple of weeks ago all of the channels on Mux 2 disappeared from my programme list. I thought it might be because I had quite an old freeview box so I bought a new one today but still no ITV, Channel 4 or any other Mux 2 channels. Reception on the channels on all other Muxes, including the ones rated as very low above, is fine. My postcode is LN1 1SU. Is there a problem with MUX 2?

Will Belmont transmitter be one of the transmitters where one or two multiplexes will remain in 2k mode even a little while after the switchover?

Yeah, I've tried all that. Not only tried the retune (including the unplug/replug the aerial advice), but as mentioned tried an entirely new box. Neither are picking up Mux 2/UHF 31. Have disconnected everything apart from the Freeview box to try and eliminate any RF inteference (so unplugged my XBox 360 and DVD player, and removed all cables connected to the tv from them). My old box is an Onn OSTB01 and my new box is a Bush STP202X12. Neither seem to be on this list: TVs and boxes that do not support the 8k-mode | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice (LN11SU)

Josh:All the standard definition muxes at Belmont switch to 8k mode on 17th August 2011.There will however be a power restriction on Muxes ArqA and ArqB until 23rd November 2011.

Brian:- Is the power restriction to prevent interference on other transmitters before they switch over?

Des Collier: That's correct.

In effect the PSB multiplexes will use three of the four old analogue networks (as analogue Channel 5 only used two RF channels) and the fourth has been hived for for the "digital dividend"

So, as before, the COM multiplexes will fit into "gaps" in the old analogue plan.

This means that on some transmitters the COM multiplexes have to have power restrictions to stop taking analogue transmissions off air in neighbouring regions until they are converted to digital broadcasting.

It's a little more complicated than that, but that's the basic plan.

I have a new Roof Top Aerial for Freeview which works without a hitch on all the BBC Channels. However we get annoying pixilating on all the other channels especially ITV1. We are in post code DN344LQ and are tuned to the Belmont Transmitter. I understand that the signal strength is stronger for the BBC and that the other channels will have the signal strength increased following the Digital Changeover. Is this correct?
