I have had a new Humax PVR 915T fitted by a TV engineer this week but he couldn't get ITV , Ch 4 or Ch 5 on the Sutton coldfield transmitter which is where my service comes from.Post code DY9 0GB, new digital aerial installed outside on roof.
My cheap box worked but picture bad and signal strength shown a very low, please advise what can be done.

Toni Allison: The Digital UK postcode checker does not make any prediction for reception from Sutton Coldfield at your location until after switchover. At this stage you might as well wait for DSO stage 2 on 21st September 2011, after which you are expected to have good reception of MuxD3+4.

terry: You are basically correct regarding having to wait until 21st of September, as although Litchfield is presently operating a temporary low power HD service on Mux Ch34 (@ 4Kw) its doubtful if you will receive it, as many cant.

That said though, the trade predictor does indicate that you can, so try a manual tune on Mux Ch34 and see what comes up.

terry: Thanks for the update, which has somewhat confirmed what I suspected, as many complain of poor signals on Mux Ch34. (not necessarily all on this site either)

Terry: I live in Solihull and have been able to pick up the HD service from Lichfield for the past few months. I had to tweak the aerial direction to achieve that and you may have to do the same, if that is feasible. Whether you want to and potentially have to reverse that in a month is the choice you need to make. The Wolfbane site will give a simple compass bearing from your address.
