I have recently had my aeriel cable cut by roofers and re-connected to the aeriel socket. Now my in-built digital TV (no box or sky)appears not to be working. I can receive analogue TV (bad quality) however when I change to digital on the TV 'no signal' is displayed. I live in Leeds, Yorkshire. Can anyone shed any light on the problem?
I have re-booted the TV and checked the cable to the ariel, the connections to the ariel appear sound.
Can anyone help me with my problem?
I would like to view some tv after several months parted?
Much appreciated, Madeline

Madeline,Leeds. You have tuned to Bilsdale as you stated you receive bad analogue reception and no digital reception as such as the lower powered pre-DSO signals from Bilsdale is currently insufficient to cover your location. Is it Emley Moor transmissions you require and if so your aerial will lead to be realigned from Emley Moor as such.Bilsdale on the other hand switches over on Wednesday 12 (DSO1) & 26 (DSO2) September 2012.

David Parker,Rotherham. It appears that the set-top box concerned that you stated does have some sort of software issue problem. My best advice is to send it back and get a refund. After this buy a new set-top box only next time avoid Technika altogether.

David Parker: I agree entirely with Mark Fletchers opinion as these boxes are quite simply in legal terms "not fit for purpose", as although there are various pieces of Freeview equipment around that can be classed as coming into the category of being a bit iffy regarding performance, but as I am sure that you may well have already observed, that where it involves these Technika devices its a bit difficult to find anything being reported except of them being totally problematic.
I suppose really to quite honest about it, with this being why no constructive advice can be offered to assist you other than what Mark Fletcher has suggested, as, and without wishing to appear offensive, the term "flogging a dead horse" is always at the back of ones mind as the problem is one more of design, with any updates that might have been published really only being futile "shots in the dark" attempts to rectify problems, of course this sort of thing not being exclusive to this particular device!
Should by any chance the source you purchased it from be a bit reluctant to give you a refund, then I would advise you to mention trading standards.

David Parker,
I fully agree with jb38 and Mark Fletcher, this item is quite obviously 'unfit for purpose'. Do please ask for a refund and, as jb38 suggests,.."Should by any chance the source you purchased it from be a bit reluctant to give you a refund, then I would advise you to mention trading standards".
As I stated on 7th March .."Yes, please do google and select AV Forums. I can not say anything on here about what I found as a certain supermarket chain may want to sue, but DO have a read, it's very enlightening".
I would also suggest doing a bit of review reading and general research about various products before you decide on what to buy to replace this useless kit.
Hope all works out for you, Ron.

I will be returning this so called box back to Tesco on Monday I will let know how I get on. It has been a big waste of money time and effort to try and get the ruddy thing to work. Dont get me wrong showing all the channels the unit is good its only when you go the CONNECT 110 so on the damm thing does as it wants, not what it to do
hope you can make sence of this
