Thanks for the explanation, but unfortunately, this still leaves me £40 out of pocket for Sky Sports 1 and 2 with not the slightest warning, missing loads of looked forward to sport.
Seemingly, all so London have a problem free switchover !

Pete, Sally: with reference to C33, Crystal Palace *will* still use it from 4 to 18 April. It will just be carrying ITV1 rather than BBC Two (because this channel will ultimately be released, BBC A takes over ITV1's frequency not BBC Two's, so ITV1 has to move out of the way). So you won't see any improvement until 18 April.
Crystal Palace *by itself* serves nearly 4.5 million households, and when you add all the relays it's at least 5 million. And yes, more of them are the ABC1s that the advertisers are particularly interested in. Unfortunately, Crystal Palace and Rowridge are both Group A transmitters, and there are only 10 frequencies remaining in this group after switchover (those above C30 are released). Two lots of six into 10 doesn't go, so some services had to use the same channels, unless Rowridge commercial multiplexes were put out of group. That would have required everyone to get a new aerial. However, the selected channels are *already* in use, for low-power digital multiplexes 1, 2 and B (BBC and main ITV/C4/C5 channels) at Crystal Palace, so they can't be used *yet*.

When are SDN, Arq a and b going to higher power, I only am getting 37 channels, all reliable now with a high gain group A aerial but all the above multiplexes are missing. Would I be better at this location going to Findon relay?

Andy: According to the Digital UK Tradeview predictor, you would probably get a better signal from Findon. However, it only broadcasts the Public Service multiplexes.
The Rowridge COMs (SDN, ArqA and ArqB) will be on full power from 18th April. From that date they will also be on higher power vertically, so you will be best advised to switch your aerial to vertical from that date.

Without getting too technical, is there any hope for an old ON Digital set top box? This has now ceased to receive anything on the Muxs Ch 24 and Ch27. Aerial is loft mounted. Would it make any difference changing the polarisation? All other channels work fine.

John Hewlett: I am wondering if the problem is that it will only work in 2k mode and not 8k mode. After switchover, transmissions are in 8k mode.
Digital UK Tradeview shows that SDN/C30 (ITV3 etc) and ArqA/C37 (Pick TV etc) are still in 2k mode. It says that ArqB/C33 (Yesterday etc) is in 8k mode now.
There is a retune event on 18th April when the rest will increase in power and move to 8k mode.
Digital UK has put together a list of 2k equipment here:

John Hewlett: Sadly the good old Ondigital boxes are only suitable for reception of 2k mode signals, so will not work after switchover.

@Jaz
Thanks for your advice. I deleted BBC News Channel on 801 and re-tuned and I'm pleased to say that the channel is back on 80, where it was before.

Hi you say that after 21st march ArqB starts on C28, but you give out Arqb as being in C33.
My problem is that I can not get any APG on ArqB, and the signal strenghth is 50% or just less. I have a wideband ariel, and things were OK before the 12st march
Wonder if you can help
many thanks Paul Foster

Paul Foster: ArqB will remain temporarily on C33 @20kW until 18th April 2012 when it will change frequency to C28 and the power will be increased to 50kW on the horizontally polarised signal. Additionally it will be transmitted at 200kW with vertical polarisation from that date. SDN and ArqA change frequency and mode at the same time and will also transmit at 50kW horizontal and 200kW vertical.Note that in order to transmit Sky Sports ArqB has already changed to 8k mode, this will account for the signal appearing weaker for some viewers.
