For the second morning running (May 1st) I have no digital TV signal. By mid-morning yesterday it had returned.
Is it the effect of recent strong winds?
When will the signal be retored and is someting being done to prevent cesation of the signal in future? Doesn't seem as resilient asthe old analogue signal.

Newbury
I am finding that ITV1 (only) has very poor picture with major artefacts, and TV shows about 20% signal. All other channels including on same multiplex are fine, showing 90% plus signal.
I'm on southern side of Newbury, Berks, so I seem to be on Hannington transmitter. I did retune quite recently since the last digital switchover change.
Any idea whether this is related to Hannington engineering work? Is it worth retuning to a different transmitter for this multiplex (not bothered about regional variants)?

Richard: As it is only ITV1 that is showing the poor signal strength it suggests that this particular signal is not from Hannington, but from an alternative transmitter- Crystal Palace or Oxford being likely candidates depending on whether the tuner places the first variant found or the last found in position three in the channel list. Check in the 800's for an ITV1 that works correctly. If possible check which frequency/channel you are receiving for your ITV1, often shown by pressing the info button. For Hannington it should read C42. Crystal Palace is C23 and Oxford C60-. To restore the correct version if there is no channel swap facility, you will need to clear the channel list, then do a manual tune on each of the Hannington frequencies.

Michael Hedderly: Note that there is engineering work posted, with Hannington digital TV liable to interuption this week. Strong winds do not affect TV signals directly, although they can cause delay to engineering work, as well as possibly damaging power cables or viewers aerials.

mark,
my tv does state there is some sugnal on 47 (it goes about half way up the scale) however if i tell it to add channels it fails to do so.
my digital recorder doesnt have the option to manually add so i cant check 47.
Surely with the tv though, this is not a surprise? if i could see them the tv would have added them during the scan?
According to the levels at the top they are broadcast at same strength as com4 & com5
any thoughts would be welcome

just a thought. My tv ariel is misaligned by 5 degrees compared to neighbours (though they dont use theirs).
Could this account for missing com6 (given what I have said above)?
