Yvonne: Just out of curiosity, could you please clarify if the code you provided is applicable to your own residence or that of where your daughter is hoping to move into? as the content of my reply was based on it not being the latter, not of course that it would make much difference unless she was located in the slightly higher level parts of the town where the from the isn't quite so iffy.

Dave, jb, Mike, thanks for your responses. We live in Redcar at the moment, my daughter is moving to to work at the new Sainsburys being built. The flat she's hoping to get is in Church Street Whitby, it's a top floor flat facing the harbour with a communal rooftop , I noticed there was a BT Openreach phone point and the agent said the previous tenant used BT Vision but having looked into that it seems that uses so probably isn't viable.

Yvonne: Yes, a BT vision box is in effect a box but with a broadband connection so that can be viewed on-line, and so I feel that's what the agent was possibly meaning as Freeview is not presently available, although this BT Vision via on-line broadband is done on a monthly contract basis and so the costs can add up, so your daughter has to beware of that fact.

Obviously you did provide the code for your daughters proposed flat, the only reason I enquired was that many people when enquiring on behalf of someone else usually forgets and provides their own code rather than the other persons, you of course not having done.

All that's been said by Mike Dimmick and Dave Lindsay applies to that Church Street code, with myself being quite acquaint with the Church street area as I am up in the area every three months or so, and generally have lunch in the fish & chip restaurant located at the bend in Church street where it leads down to the bridge.

Bob: On 12th BBC definition to full digital so if you don't retune on that date then you will be unable to view them.

On 26th the rest switch over.

Received full? signals , on 23. 26, 29, 40, 43, 46, . with a half size Group A , through a downstairs window facing towards .
The strength was 75% and 100%. My location is Bramham 3 to 4 miles south of Wetherby in Yorkshire

We have been loosing the on and off for the past few weeks.
We had the checked and it was found to be a stronger than strong signal coming in for all .
We have BT Vision and until recently we have had no problems.
The current display is saying No channel found, please check aerial or local signal availability.
Press OK to start search.
The DVB Auto Set Up is showong CH21 68

I've never understood why Yorkies would want to watch , unless they couldn't receive Yorkshire of course. I know that Bilsdale comes in strong, particularly in the north of the city, but why watch news about the north east if you don't have to?

As a fellow Yorkshireman, I want to hear about what's going on in God's Own County!

I reckon that you're on a communal , so tell your landlord that the aerial needs turning to face !

From HG4 1UP today the Muxes were relative to the signal:-
1 -13.6dB
2 >-32db no signal resolved
A -18.2dB
B -18.5dB
C -19dB
D -30.5dB just resolved

Using a Thurlby Thandar PSA2701T Spectrum Analyser and a dipole at line of sight to Bilsdale.

I think the figures say it all, 2 and D are no good in our direction.
