I still can't get Pick, ITV 4, Challenge etc. Thought they had upped the power when Dover went digital.

Hello. Out of curiosity did an auto-retune on My Humax box. Now have 120+ TV Channels!!, BUT the original channels what were fine prior to this for BBC 1, 2 etc are now poor. I have noticed that the same channels now also appear (fine) in the channel 800+ area. Will I get the original settings back after 27 June? Did this all last night (25 June 2012) I am at CO7 6TP, East Bergholt. MTIA, Adrian

Briantist: Thanks for updating the site, I like it! I have found though, that some of my posts have disappeared from the comments pages. No great problem, just handy to look back for reference.

Adrian James,Colchester. You're best bet if your Humax box allows is to perform a full reset procedure again, then preferably a manual scan tomorrow Wednesday 27 June 2012 after 6am onwards. The restriction on Sudbury will soon be lifted once Bluebell Hill and Dover main transmitters complete DSO2 in the early hours of the above date that i mentioned earlier above !

We have liftoff!

ITV4 and Film4 (and doubtless lots of dross I don't care about) now restored to their former glory...

Yes it was a nuisance having to plug the laptop into the TV for this years BTCC rounds but the world didn't end, I haven't wasted time, money, or energy replacing my cheap'n' cheerful self installed loft mounted aerial (works fine here in CM7land) so all's well.

Many thanks to those who provided a clear explanation of the situation with the temporary low power transmissions, without that I'd probably have ended up spending money needlessly...

All good here in Ipswich (IP2) too. Have now removed the booster (again) which I had to reinstate when ArqB went from CH50 to 63 last November. Can now also get all MUXes on my set in the dining room, using just a loop aerial (albeit with some break-up on CH56 & 58).

The above page does now need updating concerning the now power increase of the commercial multiplexes SDN,ArqA and ArqB from Sudbury to 100kw apiece.
If i may add on behalf of Sudbury main transmitter viewers i hope the problems you had over the last year or so relating to the underpowered SDN,ArqA and ArqB multiplexes are hopefully now the beginning of the end as such, and once the UK goes all digital (TV wise) by Wednesday 24 October 2012 and beyond digital TV should become more improved and possibly less problematic.
But please bear in mind that even in 2030 the six (or maybe nine ?) multiplexes could be decreased to three multiplexes, once ultra high definition TV (4320p HD) if implemented by 2050 once the present 1080p HD is possibly switched off by then,we could end up with over 1000 programme channels on only just one multiplex. Most of us by then will longer be here but most of us will be.Who knows what could happen in 2050 let alone 2100 or even 2120 and beyond but here in 2012 with analogue TV UK wide almost at an end (four months or seventeen weeks to go on this date) and the first generation of high-definition here (1080p) terrestrial TV is constantly and forever changing, yet its future is still uncertain will it be still here or gone in fifty, one hundred or even one thousand years from now,we will never know that is for certain !

Correction to my above post, due to wee typing error. One of my sentences should have read."Most of us by then will no longer be here but most of us will be".Apologises all round.
