All the info I have posted so far has been taken from files recorded by MythTV. I've just tried the VLC 'Codec info' tool while watching live TV with VLC
Media > Open Capture Device > TV (digital) > DVB-T > Mux freq 737833 > Bandwidth 8 Mhz > Play
and selecting within the mux by
Playback > Programme
The stream analysis looks similar and the EPG info comes up too. You might get more insights from this if the Windows version works in the same way. Good luck!

Hi John,
VLC controls in Windows are very similar, but at the moment I can't make your suggestion work.
I'll try later.. thanks

Based in Leicester with two media centres both of which have experienced blackouts on ITV1, Ch5, ITV2 Ch4+1 along with a couple of random channels I never watch.
Both PC have different hardware and tuners and nothing has changed on either machine and this all started about a month ago!
So my thoughts are this...Transmitter had some work done its and WMC doesn't support the changes! Microsoft are clearly no longer supporting media centre so unlikely to get a patch off them! So someone at the transmitter ideally reconfigure the sign to cover all tuners out there including WMC or we are all going have to buy set top boxes to watch and record the missing channels!
All this for 4G...

Hi, I am hoping somebody can help me, I have a samsung bd-e8900 tuned to Waltham, I cannot receive the HD channels through Auto or manual tuning (ch58), I have hard reset, latest firmware, I did have a technika HD freeview which picked up all 4 HD channels fine with the normal cable, I have tried normal cable and then 3 different signal boosters, all freeview SD channels are fine, pick up 109 inc radio (some of which are dupes), This device has twin HD tuners so I cannot understand why I am having so much difficulty, I don't know the quality but they all look fine with varying signal strengths, any help would be much appreciated!

Paul Stableford: I've no particular insight into the particular bit of kit, although we did get a fair number of these returned last year because people found them fiddly to use and they could only record on one channel.
This thread has a lot about software http://www.avforums.com/f…tml, but since you've got the latest, we can discount that.
I'd start with a clean auto retune, without any boosters, etc. Since your closer to Waltham than I am, and your getting a fine signal on your other TV, its obviously not the signal path or the aerial.
Waltham is on Channel 49 for a manual tune. You say your not sure of the quality, but the signal strength looks ok but varying - could it be that the signal is too strong? (my Sony is showing 93% signal!).
Other than that, I'm at a loss. If its that bad, return it. (PE12QN)

Paul Stableford: Purely as an extreme long shot as I am not personally acquaint with this model, but in the settings menu under "aerial" does it give you a choice of either DVB-T or DVB-T2? because if it does select the latter then carry out a manual scan on Walthams Ch58.

many thanks for your reply, I might try an attenuator but I am not convinced, I have tried auto and manual on channel 58 and 0 channels show up, all the SD are fine on ch49 etc. just no HD at all, I got this 2nd hand so am stuck with it:(
I believe I can only record 1 channel at a time as well but will look into that matter separately. It does all I ask just frustrating not getting the HD channels.
