MUX 42 on Tunbridge Wells pixellating badly on all Channels but unwatchable on Channel 20 - UKTVs Drama.
All other MUXs seem OK
No problems shown above - is it a fault or "atmospherics"
Anyone else experiencing this?

No idea what a MUX42 is Trevor, but there have been problems with several Freeview channels since last Saturday. Started at 9pm on Channel 20 & was totally unwatchable. Sunday I tried to watch Channel 5+1 & also unwatchable. So I scrolled through the channels from 1 - 50 & found all these were unwatchable - 10, 20, 27, 30, 31, 38, 39, 44 & 49. The pixellation & tweeks are a pain. Previously had no problems since installation . My postcode is TN2 3UH & according to the Freeview site there are no problems or re-tune needed. Cannot ask the neighbours as they all have Sky. Any ideas?

Hi Gill,
MUX 42 is the Multiplex that hosts Freeview 20 (Drama) and 10 (ITV3) and the rest you (and I and Martin) are having problems with.
Like you no issues previously.
Maybe its the Perseid meteor shower!
Maybe someone from Freeview reads this forum and can lets us know.
At least I am not the only one.......

Hi folks, I live in Crowborough and over the last couple of days have suffered a very week signal, as there are no technical reasons at the transmitter could it be atmospherics?

David : There have been severe problems in many areas during the early part of this week due to high pressure dominating our weather.
In the day's of analogue transmissions it was rare to completely lose signals the interference manifested it's self as wavy lines, ghosting and distortion of sound. Now, with digital signals, a competing signal many miles away, causes blank screens.
I had to watch London programmes from Sunday until Wednesday when the high moved away to Scandinavia.
Signals can travel hundreds of miles during high pressure and tend to travel along the lines of equal pressure. My signal, usually trouble free, is from Sandy Heath but the transmitter on the I.O.W. Rowridge uses the same frequencies for the P.S.B. channels. When those signals travel beyond the designed coverage area they compete with the Sandy Heath and smother my local service.
By now I would hope your signals are fine?

Crowborough
1-10-13 Like David we live in Crowborough and have lost our freeview signal completely over recent days. The DAB signal is bubbly and we have lost many of the stations we listened to. Any ideas why this has happened and what we can do to get the signal back?
