Rob Mitchell: Could you check which transmitter your using? You should be getting BBC's Central News, since the Oxford transmitter is only 8km away!

If you look at the Digital UK tradeview link, you can what might be happening. When a box tunes itself, it will often start with the lowest RF frequency, and then go up from there. Sandy Heath is on channel 27, and Hannington is on 45. Niether of these are very good for you. Oxford is on 53. Try manual tuning, and hopefully you should get Oxford and all your channels.

Dear All,
Still having issues with this, the channel signal for the bbc channels is good and i have no issues with them, but the ITV channels have high signal strength and is blocky at times and the sound dips out. From Com 3 all my channels are gone, I would really like to get these back and sort out the interference.
Any help would be very welcome.

Hi All,
I'm back again, Having issues again with my tv reception, The channels i am having trouble with are on PSB2 D3+4 from the Oxford transmitter. All other channels are just fine.
The ones on PSB2 D3+4 say they have 100% signal on my sony TV however they keep breaking up like the signal is poor. I have 100% also on the other channels which have no issue but no break up in signal.
They say there is no engineering works at Oxford however i do not understand how all multiplexes work properly apart from PSB2 D3+4.
Looking at the guidance here i have a cat 2 ariel which has been OK the last 3 years.
Please Help, its doing my head in!!!

Regards
Rob

Rob - It sounds to me like you may be having problems with too high signal level. In Kidlington you are pretty much in a strong signal area from from Beckley as you can get. If you have any aerial amplifiers coming off your aerial most definitely remove them! It may be necessary to fit an attenuator between the aerial & TV. You should be able to Find them on the internet (Amazon ETC) but you would most definitely get them from Maplins on Botley road. See the Link here:-
Variable Aerial Attenuator | Maplin

Judging by your last post too strong a signal seems the most likely (OX161DJ)

Also the signal level indicators on most TVs aren't that good you shouldn't need much more than 75-85% signal strength to achieve perfect reception. 100% does indicate a signal overload.
