I contacted Digital Uk to ask when the COM7 multiplex was due to launch from Pontop Pike as Bilsdale was due to launch it on the 3rd March 2014. Below is the reply I got:
"Thank you for your email about the availability of new COM7 HD services from the Pontop Pike transmitter.
The current plan does include Pontop Pike transmitter however we do not have a specific date yet. We would suggest checking our website regularly as this will be updated as soon as we have this information"

It says BBC4 HD and BBC News HD etc from Feb 2014 so I did a scan for new channels, however no luck. I take it these channels aren't available yet then?

Cameron: According to Digital UK these services aren't on air yet from Pontop Pike and there is no date shown (other than "2014").
The new channel will be on lower power than the rest and will be "out of group" as far as the former four analogue channels and current digital ones goes. The latter may mean your aerial may have to be replaced with a wideband, assuming that you are in with a shot at reception.

Why no multiplexes on channels 51, 52 and 57?
Why couldn't they put the two new dvb-t2 multiplexes on these channels instead of on channels 34 and 35? Interference problems?

David: Because, unfortunately, that is not the way it works.
The engineering solution would be a preference for in-group channels, whereas because 31 to 37 excluding 36 was ringfenced and "sold" to a single operator, this principle being the one that rules.

David: UHF channels 51 and 52 are used by Emley Moor, so presumably they aren't used to avoid interference C51 (714.0MHz) after switchover | ukfree.tv - 11 years of independent, free digital TV advice

Just looked at Emley Moor transmitter and they got a multiplex at channel 34 too. Won't that cause inference with Pontop Pike's channel 34? Or is there an error somewhere?

I noticed the local mix only carries 3 channels. Will capacity be increased later for more stations in the future?
when will com 7 and 8 come online?
