Hi,every time i put a bbc channel on,my tv screen freezes.this is a new box because my old box was doing the same thing.i've checked the cables and ariel and there ok,so any ideas what's causing this problem. (50.4704,-4.7262)

Lee gammon: Your just 4km away from a transmitter, and 21km from the main one (click on DigitalUK link), so its highly likely your getting too much signal (nothing to do with the box). I have a Bush TV with Freeview and a DigiHome DTR0207 Freeview TV Recorder with Twin Tuner. The aerial is connected to the DigiHome and a scart connection is then to the TV.
The transmitter used is Caradon Hill.
I have performed a full reset of Freeview on both devices but the channel lists differ in that I cannot manually or automatically tune the DigiHome to Frequencies 22, 24, 27, 31 or 39 so, for example, the DigiHome is missing Channels like Dave, truTV etc. in the 24 range.
Any thoughts on how to address this welcomed.

TR12 6SZ, with roof top aerial. Yesterday 7th March we were unable to tube into any Freeview channel or any DAB radio station. Were there any works being carried out to the transmitter?

Hi thanks can you help me figure out the problem? HD and all other channels have worked fine for over a year but suddenly dropped off the other day, i have realised it is both c22 and c31 are not working - all others are working fine
c21 18% quality / 70% str / 476 bit error rate
c22 0% quality / 0-92% strength is fluctuates madly / 2000 bit error rate
c24 40% quality / 58% signal / 20 bit error rate
c25 100 quality / 100% str / 0 bit error rate
c27 100% quality / 54% str / 0 bit error rate
c28 100% quality / 90% str / 0 bit error rate
c31 0% quality / 30% str / 2000 bit error rate

Ash: First of all, the notion of too much signal: This results in signal levels repeatedly dipping down, and can appear to the user as if there's too little signal, this being because the tuner is overwhelmed. Think if a bright light was shone in your eye; you'd automatically shut your eye and so even though the light is brighter you will "see" less light.
Now to the terrain plot:
Terrain between ( m a.g.l.) and (antenna m a.g.l.) - Optimising UK DTT Freeview and Radio aerial location
You may be able to see the top of the transmitter, "just" or "almost", this qualification being because it would appear that the terrain might be in the way or objects on the ground could be. If you click the "view map of" under the plot you will be given a line between the two points. The satellite image of Avery Way at Carkeel looks interesting. It's where Waitrose is and Avery Way looks like it could be added to in the future. Has this just happened? The OS map indicates a wind turbine on that industrial estate. Has another one been added?

as far as i know no new buildings have gone up at Avery Way and I have no idea about wind turbines
would my signal be too high considering on many other channels it is stable and between 50 and 100%?
tbh it is confusing, i would rather not call out a specialist but i fear that may be the only option

Ash: Well that is the thing. Why is there such a marked difference in reported strengths when you would think you reside in a very good signal area?
The other question to rule out is the possibility that a 4G base station has started up and is operating in the 800MHz band (C61 upwards). The organisation tasked with issues relating to television reception issues as a result is "at800".
I would give them a call and see if this could be the cause of your difficulty:
