TV is pixelating, checked aerial and it is okay. Have switched everything off and on again, still the same. Have re scanned the channels as suggested and have now lost most of the channels we previously had including All ITV channels.
Are there problems with the transmitter?
Please advise as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Carolyn

It does say at the top of this page that "SUTTON COLDFIELD transmitter - MainPossible service interruptions" which means there could well be loss of channels and poor recption until the maintenance work is completed. As you haven't given a post code we cannot be certain that you are receiving from Sutton Coldfield transmitter.

vicky peace: Without having knowledge of your location, but if you receive Freeview from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter then this station is listed on this weeks engineering page as being liable to suffer from "possible service interruptions", although any such interruptions to service are only of a very short term nature of up to an hour or so at the most, usually much less of under 5 minutes.

The point to note being, that "if" you carried out a retune your TV after having possibly found a blank screen, then this action will have deleted everything stored in the tuner, frequent retunes then being required in order to recover the channels.

jb38: We have been having problems all weekend with our freeview! Can you please advise how long we will continue to have breaking up and sound quality as it is occurring on all of our televisions that we have in our household? Date of this occurring began on 10.04.15 and it is still occurring today 12.04.15! Please respond as soon as possible as we also have lost several of our freeview channels eg: Channel 61 (true entertainment )

Keith Miles: Unfortunately, as engineering work is also taking place on eight other transmitters in the Central Region as well as Sutton Coldfield, its not really possible for anyone to estimate how long the work will take.

That said though, any work being carried out involving power reductions rather than a straight cut to the service, is usually only for a short term period of maybe up to an hour or so at the most, that is unless some unforeseen snag has cropped up! which of course can happen.

Taking this into consideration as well as the fact of you having only experienced the problem with reception since the 10th when engineering work has been taking place since well before this date, it would therefore be prudent to eliminate any possibility of a defect having developed in your aerial system, by (if possible) checking with others in your immediate vicinity, this being said on the assumption that although all TV's in your household are experiencing problems, that they are all connected into the same aerial system? possibly via a powered (or passive) splitter.

I performed my monthly channel re-scan to see or find any new tv or radio stations on Freeview. Today I performed a manual multiplex signal frequency channel check, and I can re-veal that the COM8 HD MULTIPLEX from Sutton Coldfield is on and in test mode as of today. There are no test cards or channels on but there is a constant carrier. From this, we can conclude that there'll be an extra 6 HD channels coming our way sometime this year.

Yes, I think it was. Although engineering work has been under way recently, from what ive noticed at my end, the ERP of the PSB2 multiplex ITV1 etc, has been the only multiplex operating on reduced power. As of an hour ago, all multiplexes are operating at full power now. The HD multiplexes are operating ok also. We'll have to wait see what transpires, now that COM 8 multiplex is transmitting a carrier.

As of today, the com8 multiplex is up and running. It came on on Tuesday 16th April, but it was on transmitting a carrier.Today, they are transmitting two HD channels so far. One is channel 111 QCV +1 and QVC BEAUTY HD on channel 112. The multiplex is being transmitted at just under half the ERP of the main multiplexes 89kw for the time being along with COM 7.
