This is getting stupid. All the HD TV Channels are breaking up but the SD Channels are working absoulty fine without anything. We don't need a new areal because it was perfect last night, sunday, saturday and all over christmas

Sam: Check your signal strength - HD is more likely to break up because the signal is too high or too low. If too high, get an attentuator, and if too low, check your system.

Sam: Could be lots of reasons. If you've got a dodgy system, (perhaps moisture has got in), when it rains, the signal is rubbish, but when thats dried out, its OK. Or it could be that your signal is too strong, but most of the time just enough so you dont notice. But when it changes slightly (and its does - mine certainly wanders around a bit), it just tops out, and then you have a problem. And dont forget that old favourite - the aerial lead coming a bit loose.

For the last few weeks all the Freeview HD channels are intermittently breaking up can be every few mins to OK for 15mins. This happens through my BT you view box. Using the TVs HD tuner it doesn't break up but the signal quality shows between 1 to 3 out of 10 but strength 10. After going through all the channels it's only the ones on mux Channel 30 (545.8mhz) that have this issue. This includes SD channel 45 film4+1. All other channels give signal strength 10 and quality 9-10. I have an 800mhz filter connected and taking this off does seem to make it worse. I have not had this issue before, I have no new electrical devices, the kit has not moved and I have tried remaking the connectors on the cabling. My aerial is pointing toward the Wrekin transmitter. Post code WV45UD.

Andy D: Signal strength 10? - look for 'too much of a good thing' for a start - it sounds like your tuner is being overloaded.

Post code WR5 2HZ. For many years we have obtained our Freeview from the Wrekin. We get a perfect picture on channels 26 (514.0MHz), 23 (490.0MHz), 30 (545.8MHz), 41(634.2MHz) and 47 (682.0MHz) but C44 (658.0MHz) is very poor and continually breaks up. Could anyone explain a possible reason for this and if there is anything we can do about it. Our position in Worcester and some large neighbouring trees has historically meant that the Malvern transmitter has not been good. It would be quite costly to check out this option again and since the Wrekin does a good job for the five channels above it would be nice to find a solution. Thank you.

Hi, I listen to some radio stations which on the 18th April 2016 are changing channels to use the11A block, which the Wrekin does not support. Yes, when at home I could use the internet, but I bought 2 DAB car radios especially to listen to my particular radio stations. so the question is when is the Wrekin going to catch up with the technology available.
Cheers
