I have just looked at the Rowridge transmitter details, and Channel 24 seem to have been assigned to ITV.What am I picking up (Channel 24: BBC ONE SOUTH)?I'd still like to know why the signal is strong?

One morning, I tapped in 108 and got Al Jazeera in Arabic. When is it likely that English transmissions from Whitehawk will start?

Frank Lacey: Hi, The only transmitter that seems to be using Channel No.108 in the Brighton Area is Rowridge (based on the Isle of Wight) on UHF Channel 31 (554.0MHz).
This channel is ONLY broadcast from Com 7 Multiplex (one of the temporary HD Muxes!).
I do not think that this channel will be available from Whitehawk Hill in the foreseeable future!
A Couple of Questions: Have you got a Television that has an In-built HD TV Tuner and/or a HD Set-Top Box by any chance? And what direction is you Television Aerial pointing to?
Hope this helps,
Andrew :)

Add your full postcode into this website. That will enable the 6 banners across the bottom of your posts. They all relate to your reception of Freeview and the DigitalUK option gives the compass direction you seek.

The location of Peacehaven is not accurate enough to advise you. We need a full post code to allow appropriate suggestions for your particular position. The reason being that hills and buildings can mean that some use one transmitter but neighbours may have to use a different one!

Thanks for the post code. Now we can see that White Hawk Hill is definitely *not* the ideal transmitter for you. If you look at the 'digitaluk trade' box at the bottom of your posting, it will show that no one transmitter is fully ideal. Rowridge has some possibilities but a few multiplexes are suspect for reception. If you don't want a full service, then you might consider using the Newhaven Freeview Lite transmitter. Ideally you should use a log-periodic aerial that will cover all the possible signal ranges.
