Geoffrey Petto: From today Midhurst uses UHF channels 48/54/58/29/59/33 (info from Digital UK). There will be further frequency changes taking place in late 2019. Some viewers may need a new aerial (see link below for details of the Freeview Advice Line who can arrange a free replacement wideband aerial for viewers who don't have satellite or cable).

Hi,

Post this morning's Midhurst changes my old Pioneer DVR-LX61D now only sees 25 channels (was 140+) whereas my Panasonic DMR-BWT720 and TV (connected to the same aerial) see 140+ each.

I've cleared the Pioneer channel memory and the stations just seem to be from PSB1. I'm also not sure that this PSB1 is from Midhurst because we are getting occasional video corruption, which was never the case before.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Peter

Sir/madam
Please can you help, after abiding by on screen advice to re-tune my TV, i find i can no longer receive the likes of ch 10 ITV3, ch37 quest, ch61 true entertainment, ch 66 cbs to name a few, these i watched a lot and i followed your advice to unplug aerial etc to clear my programme listings, but alas still after re-tuning unable to pick these up, in fact can only get 100 channels of sorts, when i used to get nearly 150/70 channels, i am using the 4g filter that was sent to me, and as a disabled pensioner i do like to watch these channels, so please can you tell me how i can get these and other channels back.

I thank you for your time

GARRY SMITH: Chances are you probably have a Group C/D aerial which is not suited for the lower frequencies now being used for some multiplexes at Midhurst. If you don't have satellite or cable you should be eligible for a free replacement wideband aerial which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

Hi,

Well some pluses and minuses. I eventually got the DVR-LX61D working with a retune the following morning and that seems to be back to normal now.

Unfortunately my Panasonic DMR-BWT720 now has a Guide recording issue. Guide recording works fine for all multiplexes except PSB3 / BBCB where the HD channels live.

I can receive the programs fine and their entries appear fine in the EPG.However, when it comes to record time the recorder gets stuck with a "Pause" status and never starts recording. The machine isn't locked up it just won't record the programme.

This also applies to Channel 45 Film 4+1 which isn't HD but is on the BBCB multiplex.

I've reset the recorder to factory defaults and also tried just tuning in the channels transmitted on channel 58 so that the Guide information must have come from this channel but the problem persists.

Is anyone else seeing this problem or can anyone suggest a way forward?

Many Thanks, Peter

Peter Simpson: I've just found that I can't even do an instant recording on the BBCB multiplex channels. The recording simply never starts and sits in the paused state until the specified end time at which it "stops" recording.

Do I now have to buy another recorder?

Regards, Peter

Peter Simpson: I have exactly the same problem with a Panasonic DMR-PWT530. I can view all the channels on the PSB3 / BBCB Mux but can't record any of them. I've just sent a question to Panasonic asking for their advice. It's got to be something to do with the retune but whether it's at the transmitter end (something like a digital rights protection that's be switched on by accident) or on the Panasonic HDD recorders is anyone's guess. I'll post here if I hear back from Panasonic but at least you know one other person is in the same boat.

Joe B: thanks Joe, sorry you've got the same problem. I heard from Panasonic support yesterday that they are aware of the problem and that I should wait a while for the "transmission to stabilise". Apparently Panasonic recorders are prone to this and its happened before on some transmitters sending COM7 and COM8.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon, I'll also post when I find it's working again. Regards Peter

Horsham

I live in rh13 9xz with aerial pointed to Midhurst.
Ever since the retune on 21st March I am not able to watch any channels on the ArqB mux but other channels
are fine.
My aerial appears to be Wideband with the black bung at the rear.
Any suggestions?

Charles: Does your TV have a manual tuning function? If it does, try manual tuning on UHF channel 33.
