Michael Willis: Steve's right - without a postcode, we have no idea what you should expect.

But if you live in an area with just a Light , you can't get any more from an . The area just isn't worth transmitting too with most commercial - the cost of the 1000 or so Light transmitters is the same as doing perhaps 20 main ones, for only 8% of the population.

The Panasonic EX700 is a very decent set, but its not equiped with , unlike its more expensive cousin, the EX750. However, you can buy a Freesat or PVR easily, put up a dish and off you go. Humax is the choice for PVR, and will be about 200 pounds, with the reciever being half that. Freesat will allow you to get far more channels, albeit not C4 HD at present.

Do I understand the above correctly? From 31st Mar '18 (which I'm guessing was in reality last week) will no longer be broadcasting the LSO, com7 and com8 multiplexes? So no BB4 HD, BBC News HD or 4-7 HD (I don't care about the rest of them).

Certainly since I retuned last week I can't get the above. (SO30 postcode).

from 31/3/18 only 21-28 are used anyway, so I don't understand why wideband would be required.
Which should BBC Four HD be on after 31/3/18?

Jeddy S: BBC Four HD is on the COM8 which moved to UHF channel 56 on 21st March, which is well outside of the range that a Group A is designed to receive. If you don't have or , follow the link MikeP has posted and contact the Freeview Advice Line.

Thanks StevensOnln1, the information that BBC Four HD moved to channel 56 is missing from the top of this page, maybe that could be updated by who-ever.
Having searched channel 56 I now have BBC Four HD again.

I can't see the post from Mike P that you refer to - I would be grateful if you could provide the link or tell me how to find it? Will MIke P's post also tell me how to contact Advice Line.

I'm tempted to say WTF is going on, but I won't. If I could only have one on my desert island, it would be BBC 4. Seems suspicious that I can still get Al Jazeera and RT in HD.

There is nothing suspicious about you being able to receive Al Jazeera HD and RT HD as these are on the COM7 which has not changed yet at (it is currently on UHF 31, but moves to UHF channel 55 on 2nd May).

It seems like for our postcode, SO534LN, we are stuffed for COM 7 and 8 with no predicted coverage according to the DigitalUK checker. Despite having a wide band on the , both my Samsung tv and Humax HD Fox failed to find BBC . Luckily iPlayer on the Samsung now allows us to watch from the start so we were able to catch Below The Surface, so all was not lost.

We either continue just to use iPlayer in this , or invest in a HD box (there is a installed and cabled to the lounge, but we've never used it). We use the Humax rarely now to record, the Humax HB-1100S would seem to fit the bill.

But why should I have to spend 100 quid when you have to question how the channel allocations for the muxes were arrived at. PSB3 looks to be the natural home for BBC 4 HD. I'm sure the average 4 year old is hardly aware of the subtleties of HD on CBBC. It also has a smaller and declining share of the viewing compared to BBC4 HD. Chop it at 7pm and share ithe bits with BBC4 HD. Why is Film4+1 taking up space there? Punt it and CH 5 HD to the outer reaches of COM8 and all the BBC HD could reside on PSB3.

If you have no satellite signal, see Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fault'

If you have other problems, please provide a full (not partial) postcode (or preferably enter it in box at the top right) and indicate where if aerial is on the roof, in the loft or elsewhere.
