What has happened to Yesterday, Talking pictures, 4 Seven etc. These are all channels on the ARQ B mux which after the spring frequency change were broadcast on CH37. Since early last week, after some night engineering work on several muxes, there has been no reception of ARQ B. Checking the signal condition for CH37 we see that the signal strength is present but reduced and the signal quality rating is neglegible. Some information as to what is going on would be appreciated.

R John: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? What signal strength and quality readings are you getting on the other multiplexes? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc.

Interesting that is is only the one MUX that you are having problems with.

I receive Brierley Hill and have checked and all my signals are fine on all MUX, although chaannel 37 seems slightly lower than the rest. For the following day after the overnight engineering work, some channels were pixilating but that now seems to have cured itself.

Certainly over the last few weeks when i have passed the transmitter, engineers can be seen working on it, about half way up on a series of panels that seem to go the whole way round the mast.

If you have no joy in restoring the signal to channel 37, would give the Freeview advice line a ring and explain to them the situation, especially the fact that this has only happened since the engineering work took place in the early hours of 23 May 2018.

How do we get this page updated or notify admin? The channel frequencies are now in band A #29-37 not #50-60.

Have been unable to get a signal for BBC 1-2-4 for 4 days from last Thursday (1/11/2018) Both the picture and sound completely fragmented . Today it has improved. Spent over 1.1/2 hrs on the telephone yesterday doing complete check on my equipment with my broadband supplier, my equipment was 100% ok so the problem obviously rested at your door. Although alright today it is still giving the odd breakdown in signal every few minutes

John Dallow:

Please provide a full posy code so that we can see the predicted reception at your location.

I presume you are talking about Freeview reception which is unrelated to the performance of your internet connection except when streaming using a 'smart' device. Freeview is broadcast over the air usin g UHF transmissions and it received by your aerial. So what equipment are you using?

Also check all your aerial connections to ensure the coaxial cables are in good condition and any coaxial plugs/sockets should be unplugged and then refitted to clear any possible corrosion/oxidation from the contacts.

John Dallow:
I have also had big problems with reception of all BBC and HD from Brierley Hill site.
Both my television and digital recorder show the same faults. Eventually after much realignment of the aerial, I have got the SD BBC channels back, but not the HD channels.
Although Channel group 32 (BBC A mux) showed a good signal the information seemed to be corrupt.
Channel group 35 (BBC B mux) now shows a good level of signal but the recievers both indicate the quality to be bad and no HD channels are recognised.
I am located at Rowley Regis and in line of site of Brierly Hill transmitter, however, I have found that Kidderminster is within a few degrees of Brierley Hill from my location and according to the digital uk coverage checker a "retune event" occoured on the 31st October. I can only assume that this has caused my problems.
The information I have is that both sites use the same Channels for the same programmes.

Dave Wood:

You are only 5km from the Kidderminster transmitter so it is possible that you m ay have too much signal. Please check what signal strengths are being shown on your TV set (it's usually in the manual tuning section but DO NOT RETUNE). It ideally needs to be between 60% and 85%, usually if it is more than that level you get severe problems.

MikeP: Hi Mike, my info. says 5K to Brierley Hill and 21K to Kidderminster.
I am sorry to say that I followed the official advise and have done auto and manual retunes on both recievers.
I appear to be getting "a clock full" on almost all channels. I can live without HD so I can get by for now.
I might try swinging the antenna further west to drop the levels a bit so that Kidderminster drops more onto the edge of the lobe so reducing the input relative to Brierley Hill.

Just a reminder that Kidderminster is now an SFN with Brierley Hill.
