Dell and Joe Elliott:
Please check your aerial cab,es and connections as there is no reported problem at the Oxford transmitter. If you have coaxial plugs/sockets, please unplug them and refit. That will clear any corrosion/oxidation from the contacts which is a well known and common cause of the problems you report.

As a retired TV and video/electronics technician of over 45 years I can assure you my aerial system and connections/equipment are 99.9 percent also other people nearby have mentioned to me and asking "did your TV programmes go off this morning" so I suggest someone is not admitting there was a fault!

Please bear in mind that we contributors have no knowledge of posters knowledge/experience and the vast majority appear, from the questions asked and language used, to have little or no technical knowledge/experience in the field of TV broadcasting, hence the answer given which is still valid and resolves a vast majority of such issues. No other posters have mentioned any such issues with the Oxford transmitter as yet this month. According to the Digital UK planned engineering works page, at http://www.digitaluk.co.u…rks, there are no works planned nor being done at Oxford.
I have been involved directly woith technical matters concerning manufacture, service and training about TV sets, video recorders, etc since 1960 and retired as a Senior Technical Training Manager for a major TV rental company.

MikeP: Thanks for your reply, I also have been involved with nearly all of the major TV radio and video repair/rental companies from 1965 until 1995 and also had my own business repairing all types of domestic and some commercial equipment, I am puzzled why at least six people over a roughly 3 mile area have mentioned they had the same problem to me.
Alright if there wasn't a problem as you say then it must remain a mystery situation, the symptoms were pixel break up along with freezing and complete loss of signal with No Video and No signal messages appearing on screen and this corrected itself on all channels at almost exactly 10.00am.
We will leave the issue here as it is no use making further comments about it, thank you Mike.

Any idea when information will be updated with correct correlation between mux/channel numbers and programme numbers/names for the Oxford transmitter pages? It is quite a while since the last major change to lower frequencies.

Pikpilot: When Briantist (the owner of this website) is able to do it. This question is asked almost daily. For the most up to date frequency data put your postcode into the Digital UK coverage checker and tick the detailed view box.

I must also mention the signal is weak on many of the channels and average signal is 40% signal and 45% quality taken on Sony Bravia TV .

Rory: If you provide a full postcode we can have a look at your coverage prediction and see if there are any alternative transmitters you could use.
