There is maintenance on Winter Hill this week that could cause a week signal according to :
Digital UK | Planned engineering works
Unfortunately very little detail on what is occurring or when it will be finished. If anyone else knows the details then it would be useful to know.

StevensOnln1: Bought a new tv, retuned & can get 70 channels but no BBC with BT box. Tried connecting aerial direct to tv but no BBC with Freeview either. No problems before retune, everything worked fine. Could this be a signalling problem that needs a filter/attenuator and if so, what type should I buy? Any advice gratefully received. Postcode is M29 7DT, roof aerial.

Keith: (and others).
There is maintenance again this week at Winter Hill (Granada).http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/operations/planned_engineering_works
People some distance from the transmitter may get no signal from time to time. Do NOT retune if you have no signal. If you have/or need to retune, try doing so later in the day/early evening as work does not normally carry on at that time.

There is no problem with the Winter Hill transmitter. If there were we would see thousands of complaints av=bout it - but there are none apart from yours. So you have a fault with your system. Check all the aerial cables and connections. Unpluhg all the coaxial plugs from their sockets and then refit, that will remove ab=ny corrosion/oxidation from the contacts which is a common cause of problems you report. Also ensure that you are tuned to the correct transmitter signals, you didn't give a full post code as is requested so we are unable to advice at this time. But if you put your post code and house number into the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker and select Detailed view you can then scroll down to check which transmitters provide reliabkle signbals at your location and what channels it uses.

What happened last night? ITV3 channel10,Drama channel 20 recordings failed due to a very poor signal. When I retuned my set it seemed as if the channels were all jumbled and many were missing altogether. then when I retuned this morning all seems fine.

Good morning all - I seem to have lost multiplex COM7 (ARQC) today (6th December 2018) - lost all channels on that mux - BBC News HD, Ch4+1 HD, 4seven HD etc. I've checked another TV in the house and it is the same - retuning results (obviously) in those channels disappearing and on TVs I haven't re-tuned they show "no signal". DIgital UK (http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/operations/planned_engineering_works) is reporting planned engineering works but no other sites seem to be ... do you think Ihave a problem here or should wait until later today and see if the signal comes back? All other channels / mux show strong signal. Thanks, Mark.

Bob McCulloch: Retuning was a bad idea as you've now deleted your correctly tuned channels. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc.
