I used to get a strong signal to receive all that was available in L37 (Formby) but recently Dave was only received in a pixellated state so today I did a full reset to Factory condition and now I cannot get more than 25 channels all together. I seem to get BBC1 North West OK but when I try to manually tune to pick up more channels I get nothing on Channel 32 or 34 for example where I would expect to find BBC 1, BBC2 BBC4 etc plus ITV and other main chanels.
So I went out and bought a replacement (same as previously FVP 5000T) and lo and behold still nothing like all channels that should be available are showing up. Please advise what is going on ?? Playing on a modern 4k smart TV and with decent arial on the roof. Apart from some pixellation on some channels evrything was fine yesterday.
Incidentally while Liverpool is only 10miles away I have never been able to receive Liverpool TV !!

Michael:
Firstly please provide a full post code, a partial does not help at all.
Secondly, please check all your aerial caqbles and connections, unplugging any coaxial plugs/sockets and refitting. That will clear any corrosion/oxidation from the contacts which ia=s a common cause of the problems you report.

Michael: The full post code is L37 1NU. Thanks for the prompt response.
The arial goes through the Humax to the TV and the TV tunes fully so the signal is clearly coming through the arial OK ! Ive tried a retune both automatically and manually and as I said a brand new Humax still has the same problem !! Nothing on channels 32 and 34 which carry most of the channels I watch ( nor on the rest of the channels.)
Thanks

Nothing is being tranmitted on channels 32 or 34!
The channels currently in use are: 50 (BBCA), 59 (D3&4), 54 (BBCB HD), 58 (SDN), 49 (ARQA), 37 (ARQB), 55 (COM7) and 31 (COM8).
You should be using a wideband aerial (or a log-periodic) as there channels outside of the 'normal' groupings and there will be changes later this year or next year that will require a wideband aerial be used.

Last year's retune resulted in the loss of COM7 at my address in north Blackpool. I recently discovered a friend can receive COM7 in south Blackpool. COM 7 appears to have a narrow angle of transmitter output effectively cutting Blackpool into haves and have nots. Why?

Peter Whitehead:
Unfortunately the predicted coverage of COM7 at your location is poor and COM8 will also become poor during Q1 2020 when there are some retune events. You can see this from the Digitaluk coverage checker Coverage Checker - Detailed View
The strange thing is that the mapping shows the whole of Blackpool well within the coverage area of COM7 (& COM8). Whilst I would normally say that this problem is likely to be due to interference from other transmitters as COMs 7&8 are now/becoming SFNs (single frequency networks) all sharing the same UHF channels 55 & 56. However looking at the map, I'm currently at a bit of a loss as to which transmitters might be causing that in your location. Further investigation is needed.
