Noting Richard Cooper's comments, the information would be extremely useful, where exactly is the booster - is it upstairs, in the loft etc.?
You shouldn't have any problems with the 6 main multiplexes at your location.
I'm thinking this could be a case of too much signal as you say you have 100% downstairs but quality is only 84%.
When a set's front end is overloaded, the readings can be totally off. I'm thinking the upstairs set may have a more sensitive tuner.

Try removing the booster and just connect one set at a time direct to the aerial and see what readings you are getting.

firstly both tvs are lg with built in freeview to which i have swopped around downstairs, upstairs and upstairs downstairs. so after deing so there is no change. tv is not at fault
secondly the booster is an 20db x2 tv out put, plug in mains with a 13amp fuse changed and replaced so as it goes the c0-ax from the areial goes in to the booster, then from the booster into the tv 's upstairs and then downstairs. (booster is upstairs in bedroom.)

The signal and quality downstairs is as i have mentioned 100% and 84%

the signal upstairs is as i have also mentioned 15% signal and quality 0%

the 4g attuater was plugged in to reduce interferance but with no joy, so i have removed it

If i had muxs problems with signal break up then it would be the same down stairs, but i have no picture break up or interferance of any kind downstairs

the ariel is on the roof pointing towards tyne tees area apparently this is the stronges signal that i can get from my location

Regards to your question on removing the booster I'm afraid to say that when i do i get no signal at all

Let's clear up any misunderstanding. There was no suggestion that either TV was "at fault". Different brands and sometimes models of TV can have different tuner sensitivities - that is not a fault, some require less signal than some others to give reliable reception, that's just a fact.
Out of interest, are these both the same model of LG?

Now if I've understood what you've said correctly, when you swap the sets around, whichever set is downstairs it gives 100% signal and 84% quality, and likewise whichever set is upstairs, it gives 15% signal and 0% quality ?

As you've posted on the Emley Moor page, the assumption we'd all have made was you get your signals from there. Do you know which transmitter it is you get your signal from? In one respect, it doesn't matter which region you are getting, but different locations can get the signals of the different multiplexes differently. This may become relevant.
But if you could just clarify, if you plug the aerial directly into the upstairs TV, you get absolutely no signal at all?

If you could also check what strength and quality figures you get on each TV if you swap the outputs from the booster over?

What interference were/are you getting? Is it just that you thought this was the problem since the rewiring?
4G filters will only help block interference from 4G mobile signals.

Did your problem start immediately the rewiring was completed? Or did it start part way through the rewiring, or a period of time after?
Did the rewiring include new TV coax for the aerial and/or the downstairs output?

Morning.
Righty both lg TVs are the same. 32inch 720p even down to the same serial number.
When I tried the TV downstairs and plugged it upstairs I get 15% and 0% ... I plugged the TV upstairs and plugged it in downstairs I get 100% and 84%

From my location to which over looks kirkstall abbey my aerial is pointing in that direction...
Ok the booster is plugged in upstairs. In one of the bedrooms. The aerial is on the roof. It goes via the wall in the brickwork and co-axed into the booster. The booster is a X2 TV with a max 20db output. TV 1-TV 2.
Tv1 which is downstairs TV 2 is upstairs. 2 TVs via 1 booster via X1 aerial both on a direct link to the same area of the nearest transmitter . Both TVs where before having a complete rewire done working and giving out the same signal and quality .
Now u asked the question of swopping aerials round as in tv2 into 1 and tv1 into 2. By doing so I get the same . No change.
The 4g actuator was plugged in due to mobile phone interference. It has been plugged in since I had it. I removed it all because I thought it was that. By troubleshooting the problem at hand.
The council who go around and check with all properties and talk to home owners inrespect to the last time it was renovated, as in full rewire done. To which wasn't done in 20 years. So they did a full top to bottom a complete rewire done. Lights, plug sockets, main fuse board.. I know for a fact that I didn't have this problem before they started the works, but since it has been done ,. This is the problem to which I have now.
I have replaced the coax connections upstairs and downstairs and to the aerial to which all connects to the booster.
The rewire started on the the 8th Jan it was a 8am till 5pm a full day .... As I stated downstairs no problems upstairs a problem to which I cannot work out
Hope this helps. Besides dust nothing else was moved, they where no damages, splits of any kind.

The reason for Betamax_man's question is no doubt the same question I had at the back of my mind, but didn't want to comment on until we had more detail. Although you say "no damages, splits of any kind" I'm wondering if there is possibility of cable damage in a place where you can't see it.

The checks that you've done certainly imply there's no fault with either TV or the Booster. There is one other check you could do, as sometimes very strange things can happen, if you leave the downstairs coax unplugged at the booster, what are the signal and quality readings on the set in the bedroom - are they still 15% & 0%?

Also, things are bound to have been moved around when the rewiring was done. Do you have coax leads connecting each TV to some aerial "sockets coming from the booster" in the downstairs room and also in the bedroom, or are the cables from the booster plugged straight into each TV with no connectors or sockets in between?
If you have leads coming from a socket (called flyleads) have you tried swapping these?

Going back to Betamax_man's question, I'd guess that the coax from the aerial to the booster is probably not visible where it goes through the wall, but I think and fault between the aerial and booster is unlikely.
Are the cables from the booster to each room fully visible all the way, especially the one to the bedroom TV?
If they are visible, is there anywhere on their length where they look as though they could have been/be crushed/flattened slightly, or bent sharply?

One final question, related to reception generally, is your aerial pointing more or less due E, or is it pointing more towards the SE, or pointing more to the N of NE?

Hi and thank u for Ur responds.
The aerial is wall mounted. The coax is running down the wall and throu via the wall (corner of the window frame) and the clipted to the scurtinboard direct into the booster.
The digital coax is one piece around 3metres in length from booster into TV upstairs.
The coax from booster to TV downstairs is also one length around 10 meters in length. Both coax have not been split, cut, bent ,crushed in any way. The aerial coax via the wall has also been checked, no bends, crushed, split of any kind.
U asked the question on unplugging the coax from downstairs and see what the signal is on the upstairs TV. No change. Still the same.
Both aerials u can see at all time.

North eastly direction over kirkstall abbey the aerial is pointing

Thanks for confirming that. I'd got that (in round figures) from the Freeview Detailed Coverage Checker. However, if you have a Group A aerial, whilst it will be more sensitive on the low channels, it will struggle with COMs 4-6 which, from Bilsdale, they are already weak for some spots in your postcode, and you won't get COMs 7&8. The odd thing is that Freeview predict quite good reception from Emley Moor (with a Group T/Wideband aerial) except some spots will struggle with COMs 7&8. But if you particularly want the Tyne Tees region instead of Yorkshire, you have to go for Bilsdale.

Leaving that aside for now, can you try the Bedroom TV right next to the Booster using a short Flylead from the booster to the TV - if you haven't got one, can you borrow one, and see what the Strength and Quality % are ?

Do you normally get LCNs (channels) 11, 12, 13, 25, 29 for example?
Can you confirm the Group of aerial that you have?
