This appears to be a big problem with so many people, no tv signal. So why is it that whitehawk own web page says no reported faults and nothing to say about enginering works as though all fine? No contact so cant ask or twll them .

I have also lost all TV signals from the Whitehawk transmitter, nothing available when switching on at around 13:40. Have retuned 2 TVs following the advice online but only get very poor quality signals with numerous outages. The advice online remains the same - no problems at Whitehawk Hill!!!

Ever since the maintenance yesterday, BBCB/PSB3/C36 has had no signal.

Also, some of the channels listed here are incorrect according to the official Freeview site. https://i.imgur.com/jYXI4….png

See my post on p89 Monday, 17 February 2020 at 10:58 AM Whitehawk Hill (Brighton and Hove, England) Full Freeview transmitter | free and easy , the site owner has not been able to keep up with all the 700MHz clearance changes.

Freeview have listed the transmitter for Planned Engineering this week, details of exactly when or for how long aren't provided.
The BBC have listed the transmitter as being off-air due to a fault and for essential engineering a couple of times yesterday and there could be a report later for today, I suspect they are getting delayed because of the covid-19 situation.

For the past month or so one TV I have has been using incorrect channel numbers and I don't know how to get it to use correct numbers or if there is something wrong somewhere. I wiped the channels and did a retune which got the correct numbers but within 24 hours the incorrect numbers were back.
To add to the issue, I have 3 devices using the same aeriel but with only one showing incorrect numbers so to my mind it isn't the aeriel. The TV in the bedroom and a media centre PC with 4 tuners use correct numbers but the LG TV in the front room are showing as below:

ITV 800
CH4 805
CH5 811
ITV2 802
ITV3 801
E4 808
Film4 806
More4 807
ITV4 803

UHF CH 35 586000kHz Bandwidth 8MHz Signal Strength 100% Signal Quality 100%

looking on this site the channel numbers from CH35 shouldn't be 800 etc but with the number of times channels are moved, renumbered and the recent outage I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it

Thanks for any pointers

Neil:

Just to be clear, I'll post the information from the linked post that I referred to in my 12th July post -
"If you are going by the list at the top of the page, I'm afraid it's out of date, the site owner hasn't had time to do all the 700MHz clearance updates.

Whitehawk Hill's channels are now PSB1/BBCA C48, PSB2/D3&4 C35, PSB3/BBCB C36, COM4/SDN C32, COM5/ARQA C34, COM6/ARQB C33, LOCAL MUX/L-BTN C40.
If you click on each of the aforementioned channels, it'll give you the frequency if they aren't known/obvious to you.

It sounds like your LG needs to have it's memory cleared, I've encountered this sort of issue as well. Unplug the aerial from the TV and then do an automatic tune. This should clear all previous tuning as no channels should be found. Switch the set off for at least 10 minutes. Plug the aerial back in. When you switch on it shouldn't have any channels tuned.

Ideally carry out a manual tune on the UHF channels listed above.
Make sure that in >Settings >Programmes > Programme List Update (if your model has it) is set to OFF, or in Programme Tuning and Settings any thing that sets any Automatic update is turned off. (Where any such setting may be is model dependent).
This should stop it trying to retune if there is any loss of signal due to engineering or abnormal weather conditions.

Thanks for your help Chris.
I had removed the aerial during one of the retunes but hadn't powered down the TV for 10 minutes, or checked the auto-update. I did both last night and the channels are back to their correct numbering. I'll keep an eye on things to see if the auto-update can go back on.
