One more week to go.Once Tacolneston enters DSO2 in the early hours of Wednesday 23 November 2011 the understrength Belmont multiplexes on fr 53 and fr 60,ArqA & ArqB respectively will increase in power 25 times from 4kw to 100kw.Hopefully i will be able to receive these as such and relegate Emley Moor to emergency status only.To rephrase that i'm implying that i will only use Emley Moor transmissions in emergency cases only such as when Belmont next have an inversion effect scenario, and also i don't bother much with Emley Moor regional news bulletins.

Mark Fletcher: Thanks for the information. My device does not seem to indicate anywhere either trasmitter name or the area from where the aerial is picking up the transmission from, just UHF ID, channel number, signal strength and quality. I have to say that although Challenge and other programs on the same mux have very good signal strengths, the quality of the picture is rather poor but watchable. I hope that will be resolved when the inprovements take place at Belmont later this month.

Thanks again for your help.

Monty. My pleasure to be of assistance to you.Just out of interest i'm no professional myself, just an amateur with some knowledge of most things on Freeview as this at present is the only platform i am viewing digital TV through an indoor set-top aerial oddly enough.Until Bilsdale itself completes its DSO next September 2012 (12 DSO1,26 DSO2),i for now will retain my trusty group W wideband indoor set-top aerial, until i decide which main transmitter apart from Emley Moor i decide to commit to with an external antenna (Belmont possibly or maybe Winter Hill ?).Anyway less of me going on and just to confirm that come Wednesday 23 November 2011 the restrictions on the ArqA & ArqB mux's at Belmont will finally be lifted.

Mark, The splitter/booster was already in when i moved here two years ago. i think everyone needed one as tv reception here was crap, digital is a improvement although there was a lot of inversion problems in summer, there is a box also on the aerial mast which the rf lead from the aerial goes into, not sure if that is part of the booster system or just a connection box. Regarding the bilsdale transmitter that is actually nearer to me, but it wouldnt give us the local news, i think in my case it might just be easier to get a freesat box as we have a dish up,we do use sky as a back up but you cant get all the free channels on sky,

will,Bridlington. The box that you stated on the aerial mast will most likely in this case be a masthead amplifier which will most likely be of the booster system. As for the Freesat option described if you feel this is a better option my advice,go for it.Bearing in mind though that all satellite platforms too can suffer from pixellations and occasional picture break ups as well.

I have been having problems with my TV receiption in the nEwark area for a few days. Today I was informed that if I did a manual search for channels the probelm would be resolved as my automatic search was looking at Belmont not Waltham. I did a manual search for channels 29, 54, 56, 57 & 61 and all my problems were solved. Hope this helps someone else with problems.

In relation to the current understrength 4kw mux's ArqA on fr 53 and ArqB on fr 60 from Belmont which is scheduled to increase in power 25 times to 100kw (each) today Wednesday 23 November 2011 probably between 2am and 6am,while i'm texting this analogue transmissions from the old Tacolneston mast ceased completely at around 12:06am (0006) (Channel 5 had the honours there of being the last analogue station switched off) and presently the new higher powered mux's on the new Tacolneston transmitter are in process of gradually being switched on.Any Belmont viewers awaiting the expected ArqA & ArqB power increases due anytime soon have not long to wait !

Belmont's ArqB mux on fr 60 has had its power recently increased. However at present with my indoor set-top aerial and the signal booster/amplifier turned on it is displaying up to 99% signal quality and 69% strength, plus slightly more elevated than its previous position.Occasion pixellation at present. However if i turn off the signal booster and plug the antenna back into the set-top box i receive no signal as such from ArqB on fr 60 at Belmont.Still no sign of Belmont's ArqA on fr 53 increasing in power just yet.
