the above post was a bit theoretical . there is no change to 55 currently listed . But it will happen sometime this year 2018 and a broadband aerial WILL then be needed.

hardy: Is there any update on Bilsdale changing channels, please? Yesterday and today, we had similar problems to MattyB but on COM5 and COM6. We live in Richmond: our aerial is in the loft (conservation area). Oddly enough, it seems to happen in the morning before 10am and has obviously occurred again for a short period in the evening yesterday, as two one-hour recordings, one each on COM5 and COM6, lost about 15 minutes' at the beginning of the recordings commencing at 6pm. Thanks.

If you put your post code into the Digital UK Coverage Checker, at Digital UK - Coverage checker you will be shown the current plan for any changes, at the transmitters serving your area, over the next couple of years.
As far as I can tell, there are no known problems at Bilsdale.

Hello,
I've been told that the True Entertainment and True Movies channels have changed their frequencies and that Bilsdale doesn't broadcast these particular frequencies. Please can you explain why Bilsdale can't broadcast these frequencies? Why should we have to lose channels that we have been able to receive for many years?
Thank you for your reply

Tricia Whinfird: True Entertainment and True Movies have moved to the local TV multiplex, using spare capacity in areas where a local TV channels is broadcast. This is a decision taken by the broadcaster (Sony own the True family of channels). If you can receive a local TV station on channel 7 or 8 then retuning should restore the missing channels.

Tricia Whinfird: Also, they are still broadcasting, temporarily, on their original frequencies, with these channel numbers:
790 True Entertainment
791 True Movies
794 movies4men

Due to recent reception problems I have had to retune my TV. I live in Pickering and don't like North East tv as it is not relevant to my area and weather is totally wrong. Up until now I have had access to Yorkshire, calendar news and weather which was perfect, now I have lost the channels. Is there any way I can get them back?

Go to the Digital UK Coverage Checker at http://www.digitaluk.co.u…er/, put in your full post code and house number or name, select the Detailed View option and press Go. Scroll down the resulting listings and check your preferred transmitter is present and has green bars for all the channels. Make a note of the channel numbers (these are NOT the programme numbers) and find the manual tuning option on your TV. Use your numbers you noted down to manuall tune your TV set.

My post code is TS11 6BZ
I have problems with my freeview boxes automatically switching between the Pontop Pike and Bilsdale transmitters which results in the loss of channels necessitating manual returning
Also have problems with picking up any channels on the low powered, "" on or below 50kw" ransmitters e.g C33 ,C34 etc.
My aerials are presently pointed towards Pontop Pike.
I have come to the conclusion the fault lies with my old arials . This being the case what specification Arial do you recommend for my location.
