Briantist: my thinking was that channel 59 is not re-broadcast by the relay transmitters at the moment and will not be used by Black Hill after the switch-over. It is a temporary service. I don't see how moving it from one mast to the other would affect the relays. It might improve reception in the short term and I was simply postulating that this might explain why people are seeing improvement in HD. Is it possible to know whether the new mast is in use rather than both of us guessing?

Scott: The preview Freeview HD service is mixed in with the analogue FIVE signal, it does not use any new "air" equipment.
As FIVE analogue is decommissioned after switchover I can't see them doing anything with it other than switching it off when the time comes.

does anyone know of any issues in the East Kilbride area. Only got our arial fitted 1 year ago when we moved. it worked fine until 1 day last week when we put the tv on and it was pixelating and still is. arial seems fine. it's getting rather annoying.
