If you have lost that many channels it sounds like you may have a problem with your aerial installation rather than this being due to any changes at a transmitter, but that can't be confirmed with certainty without a full postcode to see which transmitter(s) you are predicted to receive.

Other than that, you may be best checking all your coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them. Flyleads are a common problem, try swapping/changing them. See what signal strengths and quality you are getting for the multiplexes shown in your TV's tuning section. Also check that your downlead looks undamaged (especially if it is old) and that your aerial seems intact and pointing in the correct direction.
Problematic connections, water ingress etc. can seem to affect reception of just an individual or several multiplexes.

I am in Dumfriesshire but receive TV signal from Caldbeck. We used to receive BBC Scotland, including Scotland news and the BBC Scotland channel. For a few months now we can't receive that channel plus some of the freeview channels including Really and Pick.
I've tried retuning at different times in case the weather has affected the service but it hasn't helped.

My postcode is DG11 2QU.
My TV aerial is on my roof and hasn't moved.

Stephanie Hunter:

You should be able to receive all the Caldbeck multiplexes without any issues.
It might be an idea to first check all you coax plugs, connectors etc. to make sure there aren't any broken connections. Poor connections can affect individual multiplexes and not others (due to something called standing waves - don't worry about the technical detail). You should get BBC Scotland at LCN9 in your EPG.
Really & Pick are on the ArqA/COM5 multiplex at LCNs 17 & 34 in your EPG. Sky Arts is now at LCN11.

For which channels are on which multiplex see Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview

There is the possibility that your TV's tuning section needs clearing, to do this unplug the aerial and carry out an automatic retune which should clear all previous tuning as nothing should be found. Plug the aerial back in and repeat the retune.

If that does not solve the problem, then check in your TV's tuning section which UHF channels for the multiplexes you are tuned to.
For Caldbeck Scotland they should be C27, C24, & C21 for BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, & BBCB HD/PSB3.
For the main Caldbeck channels it's C25, C28, C22, C23, C26, C30 for PSBs1-3, COMs4-6 and a Local multiplex on C33 or C29 depending on location.

Also note that Caldbeck is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible service interruptions".

The Caldbeck Scotland transmitters aren't quite as strong as the Cumbria ones but nevertheless you should still get a very good signal.

I was half expecting that maybe Caldbeck was having some Planned Engineering, but it's not, and I can't find any faults listed either by Freeview or the BBC.

The solution to this may be to manual tune rather than automatic tune. However, you might (note I said might) have to clear the previous tuning first. With the Youview box that would involve a reset (see your manual) and I'm not sure if it'll result in you having to reset any recording schedules.
I'm not sure about the Humax, it might be in the same boat, but try unplugging the aerial and doing a full automatic tune which may clear the previous tuning as nothing should be found.

To manual tune for Caldbeck Scotland its UHF channels C27, C24, & C21 for the multiplexes BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, & BBCB HD/PSB3.
For Border (Cumbria) its UHF channels C25, C28, & C22 for the multiplexes BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, & BBCB HD/PSB3.
It's UHF channels C23, C26, & C30 for COMs4-6 and a Local multiplex on C33.

If you want Border as well as Scotland, tuning those after will probably put them in the LCN 800s range rather than replace them but you can only try it.

Just to add to the frustration, IIRC you can't manual tune on a Youview box, so if a plain retune doesn't work, maybe it's a case of reset and hope that next time you get the region option to select Scotland!

Why are we having constant break up of programmes only on BBC channels with Commercial channels perfect on the Moffat sub transmitter being fed from Caldbeck, it is as if the BBC channels are operating on reduced power?

James Buchanan: How far away are you from the (very low power) Moffat relay? Is your aerial on the roof, in the loft or are you using an indoor/set top aerial and is it still pointing in the correct direction?
