TERRY: no, COM7 and COM8 are low budget multiplexes introduced on a temporary basis to encourage viewers to equip themselves with DVB-T2 compatible tuners. Although there are suggestions that viewers would like these muxes to remain on air beyond 2018, the proposed spectrum clearance for 5G in about 2020 might force them off air if the frequencies currently used by these muxes are required for displaced relay transmitters. Reception from Caradon Hill requires a group A receiving aerial in areas where signals are poor. Wideband aerials give a generally poor performance over the frequencies used at Caradon, especially so on the low powered COM muxes.

Jo: True Crime (60) is only broadcast by main stations covering larger area's of the population on whats known as a "local multiplex", neither Caradon Hill nor Plympton operating a local service.

Carson hill seems to be putting out 70% signal on channel 24, but 0% signal quality.
Is there any explanation for this? Signal degrades when we have a high pressure,
But not a complete loss of signal.

Meant that we rarely lose the channels completely, but pick, e4+1 are just no longer there. Service not running, and with a retune the channels are not even listed.

To assist you we really need to know where you live in relation to the transmitters. To help us do tat please enter a full post code, or that of a very nearby shop or post office, so that we can examine the preferred transmitter (I'm not aware of any called 'Carson Hill') and the signalpath to your aerial.

Hi Mike,
I live on the PL10 area, near Cawsand. Channel 24 has now completely gone, no signal level at all.
I have tried re-installing as a first time, and still nothing. It's almost like ch24 has just stopped transmitting.
Cheers

Christopher Wilton:
Thanks for the post code, useful. It seems that your reception of the Arqa A Multiplex (also known as Com 5) is causing problems, but I assume that all the other services are as normal?
Com 5 carries several TV services, a look near the top of this page shows a number of programmes on that multiplex. Do you get any of these on Com 5? What is the signal strength on channel 24 and what is it on channels 21 and 27?
Sometimes a problem with the aerial feeder cables or connection can give rise to selective reception, seeming fine on some channels but poor on others. So a careful check that all the cables and connections are in good order would help. If in doubt, you can replace the flylead from the wall socket to the TV, they are inexpensive and are known to sometimes be the cause of problems.
Further advice depending on feedback.
