I notice on the map above that when you zoom in there are patches of white in the middle of the yellow area which I believe is low signal.
Are these accurate as I seem to be on the edge of one that covers about four roads near me?

BR49LX CP mast visible, roof top modern aerial. We have good Freeview reception. Within the last few weeks - not sure when exactly - we have lost the HD channels 50-54. Re-scan finds station name but no video or programme information. I see from your web page that the signal is poor. Is that the reason and can I do anything about it?

Terence: The Digital UK postcode checker predicts for your location variable reception from Crystal Palace for the HD mux. This is because you are within range of signals from Sandy Heath, which also uses C31. Although the interfering signal is at a much lower level than that from CP it has emerged that digital signals are affected more adversely by other digital signals than was at first thought. The reason why the problem only occurred recently could be down to leaves on trees screening you from the unwanted Sandy Heath signal until late November. This will of course no longer be an issue after 18th April 2012 when the HD mux switches to high power working at Crystal Palace.

AD & SpLint.Look up inversion effect.The high pressure presently above much of the UK (as at Mon 16 Jan 2012) is the cause of the problems you're experiencing at present,by Wednesday (18 Jan 2012) when low pressure is due to sweep in the problems will abate by then.Hopefully when analogue TV totally disappears from the UK airwaves after Wednesday 24 October 2012 the atmospherics/inversion issues will become less of a problem and possibly disappear completely after that,i will see it to believe it by then.

I am at sn8 4by. I have two aerials, one for Marlborough and one for hannington ( to pick up the channels not broadcast by Marlborough). Both exhibit the same problem - the commercial channels have a lower signal quality than the BBC channels - Why? NB signal quality NOT signal strength. This is comparing from the same transmitter.
