lost all freeview channels and STV and channels 4 &5. Have tried retuning to no avail. Is this because the switch over?

Declan/Karen/declan b: You are experiencing the switchover. Please do a first time installation after 6am.

david b: If you have a signal that shows as 100%, then it is too strong. If you have any amplifiers or boosters, remove them from your system.

I live in Glasgow City Centre, nr Charing Cross. Area is notorious for poor reception - I think Garnethill blocks the Blackhill signal. Hence my (wideband tri-boom) aerial, which was fitted before I moved in, points south to Darvel. I have a mast head amplifier attached (although it is in the loft not at the aerial itself).
BBC freeview channels were fine, but STV was unwatchable. Analogue was awful.
Have noticed a massive improvement in STV on Ch 23 after DSO today. Signal strength wavers between 40 and 50%, but quality is pushing 100% according to telly menu.
No signal on Ch 26, 28, 29 though - so no Sky News or HD channels!
Any advice?

Oops. Misspelled my twitter name in last post!
BTW signal quality is variable amongst channels - why is this if they all broadcast at one of two power levels?

Thankyou Briantist regarding advice on strength of signal [ If you have a signal that shows as 100%, then it is too strong. ] Turned amplifier down on my indoor aerial and after a quick retune I have all my channels back. Thanks again.

We are in a fairly remote location but were previously able to receive nearly all digital channels plus fairly poor quality analogue. Since yesterday's switchover we only get C26 & C29 (ArqA & ArqB) despite following initial install instructions.
Are transmissions still on low power, or do we have a problem? Ta.
