My analogue reception is very poor but under the right conditions I can receive a reasonable digital signal. This reasonable digital signal is lost in wet weather. I understand on switch over the dig. signal strength will increase, My high gain roof aerial is directed to the Dover transmitter because of hills I don't have an unrestricted sight line to Dover. Will the increase signal strength on the 27th of June overcome my problems or do give in and switch to Sky?

Roy Thomson: Well considering that you can presently receive a Freeview signal at all from multiplexes operating on 2Kw (BBC1 1Kw) albeit in an intermittent fashion, then the chances are that when the station switches to high powered operation on June 27th when the PSB muxes are increasing to 80Kw and the commercials to 40Kw there is a good chance that your present difficulty will vanish.
By the way the BBC mux (and only BBC) will change to high power on June 13th ahead of the other five muxes.

Julian Hicks: The output levels are changed so that the coverage of the three PSB multiplexes matches that of the four analogue channels before switchover.
In Kent, in particular, the levels have to be selected with great care, because France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands are very close, at least as far as radio signals are concerned.

John White: If your post code is BN2 9YJ, then I don't think you have any chance of ever receiving from Dover!
Considering that you are around 600 metres from the Whitehawk Hill transmitter, then why would your aerial not be directed at it???
It switched over in March and even before switchover you would have been expected to have had good reception at such close proximity.
