A Baxter: Yes, there are no analogue broadcasts in the area. You might find there is a device with an "RF modulator" in your home that is the cause of the signal you are seeing.

Living in Churwell area of Morley, never had a digital signal, but on 7th September BBC channels fired up. We were hopeful that today the rest would come on board, but instead we now have none again?!?!?

Any thoughts?

A Baxter: I am also seeing very weak analogue signals. My aerial is pointing roughly North fom Otley. I expect these are coming from Bilsdale in my case. (One of them is Channel 5)

chrisw: Bilsdale is a good candidate, as it one of the few analogue Channel 5 transmitters left on C35, and Hannington, Whitehawk Hill and Hastings are a little distant...

Jon: Yes, some Freeview HD devices have problems with the way the BBC HD channels auto-selects 1080i and 1080p modes.

Briantist - It is their digital channels I'm picking up... I'm getting them on 22 and 25 so I'm wondering if my aerial is mis-aligned or i need to remove the booster.

Brian: Interesting read, thanks. We have a very simple aerial, can't recall perfectly, but is a type B or something, supposedly correct for Emley Moor.

Looking at the signal strength, we are on about 50%, with poor signal, but we are tuned in to UHF 59 (Yorkshire - sure i used to say Emley Moor in old house?) - looking above this would seem to make little sense - or are the C numbers above different?

I do know the aerial is polarised incorrectly for Emley Moor, read that a couple of days ago, and looks to point the wrong way too... so with channel seeming to be wrong, I think we may be getting a poor signal from another transmitter, that had some breathing room over the last 2 weeks??
