Is the transmitter output the same in all directions?Radiation patterns withheld
I live in Burgess Hill West Sussex and I find that when I set my recorders to record after midnight the recordings start of fine but from about 1am the transmission ceases and stays of all night.
So I am unable to watch the entire programme only the very beginning minutes.

L J Noyes: Good Morning, L J Noyes. As has been explained by other contributors to this site, transmitters do not go 'off air' during the early hours of the morning when tv programmes are still being broadcast, which would suggest that you are not setting up your recorder to record the entirety of the programmes you wish to record. Some recorders give you the option to record parts of programmes, such as the first hour, for example. I would check the settings before you next wish to record a programme and ensure that you set up the recorder for recording the whole programme, rather than just the first hour or so. I hope this helps, Richard, Norwich.

MargaretJ: You're predicted to get better reception from Crystal Palace than Heathfield, although reception is showing as variable on some of the commercial channels. Nothing has changed at the transmitters so if you have lost channels which were working for you previously then your aerial system may have deteriorated or you could have a bad connection somewhere. It's worth checking the connections at the back of the TV first to make sure no cables are loose or damaged, then follow back towards the aerial as far as you can safely access.

On Sunday evening our television reception reduced to signal quality of 3-4 and we have lost ITV and channel 5 altogether. We have tried retuning the TV several times since. Our postcode is TN21 8TG. Can you help.
