Jim f: I had three attenuators at one point so I had 52db of attenuation at one point which took the signal down to virtually nothing. I retuned when the signal strength was the lowest it could be but no joy. I think it could be a problem with the was free view have done their digital switchover and they have the power too high.

Thanks Briantist ... also realised that the aerial goes through the DVD/VCR combi to the TV ... and the darling cat had jostled the scart lead between them!!
Just shows it's not always digitals fault.

I live in a multi-unit apartment building and have no idea where the antenna is, but I have a Freeview-ready TV that uses a signal booster and plugs into a plate on the wall labelled "TV". It has worked without fault for over six months... suddenly this evening there's "no signal". I have done everything, reset everything, followed all of the typical procedures... Have rescanned over and over again. I have a hard time believing that my tv and/or the signal booster can suddenly just stop receiving the signal. yet the website says all the transmitters in my area are fine. ARE YOU SURE?

Joseph R. Krecioch: The most likely transmitter for your TV signals is Emley Moor. You should not need a signal booster when using a communal aerial as following switchover the levels should have been adjusted if necessary to give the correct signal level at each outlet to suit most receivers. Have you tried tuning without the booster in line, as you could have too much signal being delivered? Otherwise, check with other residents to see if they are also having problems. If there are other apartments with no signal contact the building management company to have the aerial/ distribution set-up checked out.

Keighley is in the Bradford Metropolitan Council area. It is not in the city of Bradford.

To say Keighley is in Bradford is like saying Salford is in Manchester. Or Watford is in London.
