Just a quick observation on signal strength and quality levels. They differ between manufacturers and possibly even models. My Humax Fox T2 says Channel 4 has a signal strength of 50%, whereas the TV it feeds says 90%. Quality also differs but by less.

I have tried the things suggested (thanks!), and still have problems very similar to those of Brian WR5.

It seems to be a Media Center issue, since my TV works fine. I'm planning to switch to Media Portal instead...

Rich - Can you let me know how you go with that as I'm in a similar position.

What I was wondering was that I am using 2 different brands of DVB tuner and wondered if they were conflicting at all.

The other advice I've had is that I might have TOO MUCH signal, and the booster amplifier is killing COM4 and COM6.

I am still wondering if Microsoft has to do an update on the MC to allow it to be able to find the new MUX channels?

Although we live near Kidderminster, I believe that we receive our signal from the Malvern transmitter. This is because we are surrounded on three sides by hills and can only 'see' Malvern.

The reception has not been perfect but mostly watchable. Since retuning after the switch off date, I find that the channels we now receive are -

25 - quality 1,
49 - quality 10,
50 - quality 6,
55 - quality 3,
57 - quality 4
59 - quality 1.

Could you please tell me if these are the channels I should be receiving from Malvern or are they from another transmitter?

Also, why are the quality values generally lower than before the switch off date even thought there is supposed to be more power?

Graham Booth: Mavern's PSBs are on 53, 57 & 60, with the COMs on 50, 59 & 55.
Looks like your 49 is from the Kidderminster relay (BBC A), and 25 is from Ridge Hill (D3&4).
You could try manually tuning for all three Kidderminster MUXs: 49 (BBC A), 54 (BBC HD), 58 (D3&4) and keep the COMs from Malvern: 50 (SDN), 59 (ArqA), 55 (ArqB).
Both Malvern and Kidderminster are vertical polarisaton.

Graham Booth: Lower quality values after DSO - assuming that it's a grade out of 10 - is often an indicator of too much signal. See Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for more information.

I have a humax 9150, a DAEWOOO TV, and a basic Hitachi PVR. My aerial (10 yrs old) has a masthead amp and the PWS is working. Mostly things are all fine BUT ITV1, Film4 and C5 all occasionally give "channel scrambled or not available".
Postcode WR13 5DW. I'm using the Malvern transmitter.
Have checked connections in the house (cant get to aerial) and when the problem shows it happens to all 3 devices.
Do I just need a new aerial or could there be something else ?

Any help welcome........
