David: Although fully appreciating that your reply/query is directed at MikeP, I would like to add that the difficulties experienced with the reception of Mux 33 is possibly related to the usual problems experienced during waves of high pressure sweeping across the country, such has been happening for around the last two weeks or so now and indeed continues to do so.
One of the undesirable side effects of same being by allowing reception of distant stations (not necessarily UK based) transmitting on the same Mux channel numbers as that used by the local station, the effect of being erratic intermittent reception dependant on the strength of the alien station.
Needless to say, nothing can be done to help alleviate this type of problem except to wait until the situation improves.

Mike and JB38 This problem is persisting and I am informed many people in the Frome and Warminster area cannot get a good signal on Flux 33.It is intermittent. The TV engineer I mentioned who claims a perfect signal in Warminster cannot get it either. At what stage do we stop blaming the weather . Note there are BBC stations on this frequency, like BBC4HD and BBC News HD.

Above your posting is a statement to the effect that Mendip may be on reduced power currently due to engineering works. That can be the cause of your problem so do not try to retune until the work is completed.

Sturminster Newton
I'm in an appartment (with a communal aerial) in Sturminster Newton and we have been unable to watch any Freeview channel for some weeks now. Luckily we also have a communal Sat dish so those of us who use satellite are ok.

GEM: Hi, Gem. as I've said before on here, it is the landlord's duty and responsibility to ensure the communal aerial system is working, but the landlord may not do anything if residents don't inform him that there is no Freeview signal, so someone needs to report it! Richard in Norwich.

Over the weekend 26,27 Nov 2016 we have had none of the channels on com7 (eg BBC4 HD, BBC news HD). Checking the signal strength it is given as 0% - absolutely nothing. In the past values below 25% in heavy rain have given occasional blocky pictures. All other channels are fine with signal strengths in the 30-50% range so the roof aerial is still working OK. The web site says that there are no transmitter problems. Re-tuning in case com7 has moved frequency finds nothing. Our postcode is BS6 7JR.
Any ideas?

Stephen: If all the other channels are working in the 30-50% range and your just 24km from Mendip, then its unlikely that ' the roof aerial is still working OK', or at least something is up with part of your system. At that distance, you might even need an attenuator - 75% should be perfect, so your at the low end of workable, even on the OK channels.
Com 7 is a weaker signal with lower power, so if there is a problem, thats the canary in the coalmine. Check your system, starting back from the TV - could be something as simple as a dodgy fly lead. Then follow the path up. But it sounds like your system is just hanging on, and the probalems your getting in heavy rain point to moisture getting in somewhere, and kiling the signal. Once it dries out, it gets a bit better, but the underlying problem will not go away.
