There are no known faults at the Mendip transmitter. There are two possibilities. One is that there could be a poor connection in your aerial system, so please check all the cables and connection. Unplug all coaxial plugs/sockets and refit to clear any corrosion/oxidation on the contacts.
Another possibility is that you have too much signal;. Please check the signal strengths on all multiplexes (strength and not quality). It shoudl ideally be between 60% and 85%. If it is more then you have too much signal and it needs to be reduced. If it is less then you need a better aerial (preferrably a widband type or a log-periodic) to receive more signal.

There have been a few "bursts" of No Signal over some recent days. As Mendip is not reporting any faults and there is no Planned Engineering this week, I suspect it's the current weather conditions with the high pressure weather system. Patience will be what's required and don't go retuning as you may lose more and tune to incorrect signals or none at all.

I was having problems on the Mendip Transmitter with no start and finish signal when using a series link for Newsnight on BBC2 HD, which caused the end of the programme to be missed.
It is now working correctly.

Weak tv signal problems over the last weak. Tonight, Friday, lost all tv between 6.00 pm and 7 pm. My equipment is set to receive TV direct from the Mendip transmitter which has work trouble free for years. I live in Nailsworth Gloucestershire. I have checked all my equipment and feel fairly confident all is ok. When I check the signal through my Youview Box on BBC I find that quality ican be 100% but signal strength is now always low at best around 27%. I presume tonight strength has dropped well below 27%. No reports of any problems with the Mendip Transmitter so does anyone have any ideas what may be the cause of these recent signal problems.

Some parts of Nailsworth could find reception difficult. Put your postcode details in Digital UK - Coverage checker to give predicted coverage for your location.
As I posted recently current high pressure weather has affected reception periodically.
The very large high pressure weather system is set to continue for a few more days yet and so may well cause reception difficulties at various times.
It would be advised to check all your coax connections (remove and re-insert the internal ones), if you've moved anything about in recent times, flyleads can sometimes become faulty. If your aerial installation is a few years old, water may have got into the aerial connector or the aerial may have moved a bit in the high winds in recent times or your downlead may have become damaged or degraded. Visual inspection is a good idea.

I have fiddled with all aerial connections as suggested and low and behold my signal strength for BBC and others had now upped to 56%. I can't believe it could have been simply a poor coax cable connection but it seems likely for since fiddling with the connections over one hour ago single strength has maintained. I think it was the connection to my Youview box that was causing the problem or there may be a problem inside all may be revealed if the problem returns.
Many thanks I will keep my fingers crossed all is now well.

It is well known that poor connections will affect the signals from the aerial to the TV set. Any poor connection will cause problems, which is why we contributors (who have seen it so many times) suggest checking aerial cables and connections. Coaxial plugs and sockects can get corrosion/oxidation on the contact surfaces and that causes signal [roblems as well - hence the suggestion toi unplug and refit hence removing that corrosion.

We have been experiencing loss of signal (sometimes for half an hour but more usually just a few seconds) for the past two weeks. We a complex of 30 properties served by two main aerial dishes. I have been advised that our equipment is okay. Wondered if you had any suggestions

There is no known problem with the transmitter so there has to be a connection problem at your location. Please note that Freeview dooes not use dishes but terrestrial aerials similar to those used for BBC2 since the sixties, though nowadays they need to be a wideband design.
I suggest that you carefully check all the aerial connections throughout the system and if there are any coaxial plugs.sockets then unplug and refit those. That also applies to any screw type 'F' connectors.
