Les Allwood:

Hi Les,

Very glad that your recorder is now working properly again! Sounds like your experience was the same as mine, no firmware update but it has just started working properly. I agree, Freeview must have changed something in the data stream to make this work.

Similar problems have occurred on other transmitters in the past and they have miraculously gone away just as ours has. It does make you question whether Freeeview is capable of learning from its mistakes though!

Regards, Peter

My DMR130 is working again. I can pause, record live and timer record on all channels. I needed to retune but that was because I was using Heathfield for PSB3 as a workaround.

The only hiccup was that after the Panasonic software had updated itself I could not access Prog Check or Function Menu. Cycling power, leaving it disconnected for a few minutes, fixed that.

All working for me too. I also got the e-mail from Freeview but I'm equally in the dark about what exactly was fixed.

I seem to be getting pixillation and lost signals on many channels, starting on thursday last. I have retuned three times without any improvement. BBC and ITY are the worst. I have a roof aerial pointing to Midhurst. Post code GU30 7SG, only 7 miles from Midhurst

G Draper: Retuning will never fix a weak signal as your TV was already correctly tuned. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

DigitalUK website is reporting possible weak signal from Midhurst transmitter. I have been having the same in Southwater (nr Horsham). Mostly BBC will be fine one minute then loss of signal occurs for a period of time then comes back. Other channels have been affected but BBC seems to be worst. Looking at the TV signal strength that was showing a very dodgy signal strength but ok at the minute.

Are there any plans to add FV 94 - US PBS - to Midhurst?

John Nice: PBS America is broadcast on the COM8 multiplex which (along with COM7) is a temporary service available from 30 main transmitter covering around 70% of UK households. There are no plans to expand coverage to any additional transmitters, with COM7 & COM8 being expected to close within the next few years. None of the broadcasters on COM7/8 have yet announced what will happen to their channels on Freeview when the temporary muxes close.

Reception from Midhurst to Southwater seems at up and down at the moment for the BBCA mux, anyone else got a problem with picture breakup?

Charles: I saw BBC B (HD channels & Film4+1) drop out last night. There is no engineering bulletin here so I presume it is down to atmospherics.
