bourchier: There are no faults showing for either Plympton or Caradon Hill (both transmitters show good coverage for your location). Start by checking all the cables and connectors behind the TV for anything that become loose or damaged, then work your way back towards the aerial as far as you can safely access.

Allan Lloyd:

Only when the commercial broadcasters jointly decide to ince=rease the range offered on the transmitter. That is a purely commercial decision for them.

A Lloyd: PBS America is on the COM8 multiplex which is not broadcast from Plympton. COM8 (along with COM7) is a temporary service broadcast from 30 main transmitters covering around 70% of UK households. It is expected to close by 2022 and will not be added to any additional transmitters (it is already scheduled to close at the Beacon Hill transmitter near Torquay next year).

Yet again it seems like "Freeview" does not LIKE the viewers that are using Plymton and have no other choice than Plymton; They advertise Ch 48 ,but is nit transmitted and they say Aljazeera English HD is NOT tranmitted ,yet I recieve it on Ch 235. Finally what about the rest of the Freeview channels such as NOW 80s, Now 90s, PBS America, Pick +1, Together TV +1, Quest Red +1, RT HD, Smithsonian Channel HD.Forces TV, Freesports ?
Will "Freeview" see this comment?

A Lloyd:

This really doesn't have anything to do with Freeview (and no they won't see your comment). Plympton is not a "Light" transmitter, it does transmit all the 6 main multiplexes. COMs 7&8 are only temporary muxes where they are transmitted and that is not from all transmitters, it is where the spectrum "space" allows without undue interference to other transmitters. The "space" allowed is a .gov & OFCOM decision (implemented by Arqiva).

The specific channels to which you refer are on the COMs 7&8 multiplexes, see Digital UK | Channel listings and such allocations are dependant on the capacity of each multiplex and the individual broadcaster's decision. Ch48 which you mentioned was moved at Sony's behest to Local multiplexes, if you don't receive a Local multiplex you won't get it, see True Entertainment | free and easy

Unless you have moved, Caradon Hill will give you best reception. Various details were provided in an answer to a previous post.

Al Jazeerra English on LCN 235 is not HD, it's SD.
