David Lythe:
Can you get COM8 on channel 31? Plus, do you have a TV capable of receiving Freeview HD services?
If your response to either question is megative then you need a different TV or STB that is capable of recieving such. (HD ready set are not equipped to get the DVB-T2 transmissions, but the display can show HD images.)

Aaron Heywood: Please provide a full postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc. An indoor aerial is unlikely to have a problem with too much signal, as most are very inefficient and only work well in strong signal areas.

COM5 has gone down since Monday (extremely low or zero reception). Nothing else is affected and is working fine. External aerial has line of visible sight to transmitter SO51 6BN. Digital UK web site cites engineering works. Please could you clarify and expand?

Colin Jager: Check your leads again. Logically, Com 5 is broadcasting, but your not getting anything, so its you. Best guess - aerial lead or some connection is damaged or very loose, and that mux has gone, but the others are just hanging on. Damaged cables dont always loose the weakest signal first, which is why you have to check.

MikeB:
I am on holiday in Swanage since Saturday 1st July. My B&B TV got Dave originally, but not today. I rescanned twice, but no programmes in Com5 are there any more. No UHF channel 21. UHF channel 22 is "bad". Has Com5 been renamed BBCA as in your table? Wolfbane says Rowridge gives out both H and V polarisations, and aerials around me are all H. Maybe V would be OK?

Dave W: Transmitter changes at Rowridge do not take place until next year. I would suggest reporting the problem to the person running the B&B and asking them to check if any other TVs connected to the same aerial have lost Dave or any other channels.

StevensOnln1: Dave W is reporting exactly the same problem as I have, most obviously with COM5. I also commented that Digital UK are reporting engineering works at Rowridge and asked for clarification / expansion as to what they are and how they could affect reception, but received no response to that element of my query. Something, however "minor" it may be perceived, is going on. Please can you elaborate?

Only Digital UK or Arqiva could anser the question on what work is being performed at Rowridge. None has been reported to this website.
Consider, though, that the weather can have a significant effect on transmissions and is very selective of how they are affected.

I live in Eastleigh and haven't noticed any disruption to COM5 all week. I tend to watch Sky news during lunctimes and evenings and Movies4Men some evenings and both have been rock solid for me.
I have a horizontaly polarised aerial, but that shoudn't make any difference bearing in mind my distance from the transmitter.
Digital UK are reporting possible disruption to signal which may be the problem here but I think it's more likely to be the high pressure in the south which will interfere with some and not others (like me in this instance.)
NOTE FOR BRIAN: you are listing the output power of some of the Vertically Polarised Muxes as 50,000W whereas THEY SHOULD ALL be 200,000W. I've only just noticed it now otherwise I would have pointed it out before.
