The symbol shows the location of the Rowridge (Isle Of Wight, England) transmitter which serves 620,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Rowridge (Isle Of Wight, England) mast?

just what is this "planned engineering work"it has been going on now for over 2 years I believe.
it might have been quicker to knock the who thing down and start again.

TIM wardlaw: Arqiva don't generally publish details of what works they are carrying out, just a list of which transmitters are affected each week.

TIM wardlaw:

A lot of main transmitters (and some others) have been having extended maintenance during the last 12 months or so. I believe I previously explained that it's over 10 years since DSO and it's highly probable that extended maintenance is likely, it's not only transmitters and antennae but the structure as well, eg. to ensure that is remains safe and not likely to come down in severe weather. You may have noticed that there've been some severe storms of late!
We know that on some transmitters the work has involved such things as the greasing of stay cables and so on to inhibit corrosion etc. So it's highly probable that's taking place at Rowridge. It'll take considerable time and reduced power or interruptions will be needed when working close to the antennae.
I believe it was also mentioned that if you have your aerial in vertical polarisation all the multiplexes are transmitted at 200kW.

Posts aren't actively moderated. The site has spam filtering which isn't working effectively at this time for reasons unknown, the site owner is aware and was trying to get the problem resolved.
The site also has a swear filter which should remove posts that are found to have unacceptable terms.

There is a wide variety of information on this site that has not been updated since the 700MHz Clearance as the site owner has not had the time to deal with all of it. There's 1100+ transmitters in the UK and some of the information has to be updated manually as it's derived from documents such as pdfs that don't make themselves readily interpreted by automated software. He's been made aware of some of it that really could do with correction asap but he has to make time.
Some of the data is provided by automated scanning of data provided by DUK, but when they change the format of the information, it doesn't always get updated/presented on this site correctly.
The other issue is that those documents are not always error free. Even some of the top level documents such as one of OFCOM's has some errors, and even though OFCOM have been made aware, they haven't been updated. Such data has to be cross-checked with some of the documents issued by DUK (now calling themselves EveryoneTV) or Arqiva. Most of those are accurate.
It is those latter sources which engineers posting here (at least two of us) have used to provide you with the correct information.
One source you can go and check for yourself if you are not prepared to accept what we are telling you is Freeview's Detailed Transmitter Information for Industry professionals where the data on those pages comes from DUK.

Transmitter engineering:

We are on the Rowridge VP transmitter and favourite channels are Wild Earth (91) and Blaze (64). Been unwatchable for a good two weeks or so and seems there are more engineering works going on. The picture can briefly be ok, but then returns to pixellation, black screen and flickering. Getting very tiresome!

Brigitte Barnes :

Unfortunately extended engineering work has been going on with many main transmitters. We know that some of this work involves the maintenance of the mast structure including its stay cables etc. Disappointingly, Arqiva do not publish the details of the work taking place, nor it's duration as much can be weather dependant and involves working close to the antennae so sometimes reduced power is needed for safety reasons.

The channels you mention are carried on the SDN multiplex, but as you haven't given a full postcode we can't comment on your predicted reception of that (or the other multiplexes). Nor can we consider the possibility of interference from a new/upgraded phone mast. Have you received a postcard from Restore TV?
