Duncan: Firstly, check your signal strength - your 32km from the transmitter, but it could be too high. But if its very low, and your getting no signal, then it sounds like the aerial wiring has a problem - broken, frayed, corroded, etc.

Same thing for your mum's TV.

Dear Sir/Madam
Two years ago I brought a Panasonic TV with Free View HD built in as in a tuner with HD & free view with out HD, I was told by richer sounds where I brought the TV from & they said the Relay or Sub Transmitter has broken in King Hedge or Chesterton Cambridge & it is not going to be repaired & I brought the TV for HD channel & can't get some other channels sometimes so can you let me know when it is going to be repaired ?as I live in King Hedge area, The way I look at it is you keep on wanting the money to pay for the service so I should get what I pay for, I could under stand if I move some where & it was poor service but in Cambridge it should be a strong signal thanks yours sincerely Timothy.

Timothy Bennet,
When you bought the new TV (then brought it home) what aerial have you connected it to?
The Kings Hedges mast was never a UHF transmitter but was a receiving station for the old British Relay cable system. It closed down in 1986! If you have your own aerial then it may need a new one because Sandy Heath now requires a W wideband aerial whereas it was an A group.
If you are in a block with a communal aerial contact your landlord. If it's your property and it has an old aerial, and you aren't confident sorting it out yourself, then call a local CAI installer.
The signal to the north side of Cambridge is strong!

Hello . for the last 3 weeks I've had poor signal on CH 27 and CH 52 and CH 32 . I used to get 100% signal on all of them . people in our area are all experiencing the problem .its now around 30/40 % signal and keeps dropping to 0% . at times . I've checked all my connections there all OK .

Eddie: We need a postcode to tell what sort of signal you should be getting, etc. But if the signal strength keeps dropping, its not the transmitter. Almost certainly, its your system which is failing, perhaps frayed wires, loose connecvtion, water getting in, etc.

What is the _local multiplex on aerial group C43 (650.0MHz)? According to the table "How will the Sandy Heath (Central Bedfordshire, England) transmission frequencies change over time?" on this webpage its been available since 2011. I've never got any signal on this frequency, but I get strong signals for every other multiplex (I'm in post code CB25).
