When it rains i loss the channels on COM4,5&6. Is this because of the low rating and if so when will this be fixed?

Richard Sangster: The commercial multiplexes will increase in power next year.

If you have problems when it rains, this is because there is water getting into your aerial cable, and you should probably have it replaced.

Hello Brian

I'm based in the Mendip area (AV technical) and often come across bleed from Wenvoe and Stockland Hill. I was looking at the Mux powers shown for Stockland Hill (3@50kW and 3@10kW). Will their final values all be 50kW?

Kind regards

Peter Dolman

A possible reason for the present 10kw low powered commercial mux's on the Stockland Hill transmitter,ArqA on ch 22,SDN on ch 25 and ArqB on ch 28 is because it will clash with the neighbouring high powered 100kw Caradon Hill transmitter mux's on ch 22 (BBCB),ch 25 (D3+4) and ch 28 (BBCA).Once power to the understrength 10 kw mux's at Stockland Hill is increased, unless these affected mux's are relocated to other frequencies, what i mentioned earlier about the clashing of frequencies with Caradon Hill (ch's 22,25,28) could become reality.

Mark Fletcher: Caradon Hill doesn't use those frequencies, but Rowridge and Crystal Palace will do.

Mike Dimmick. If as you state Caradon Hill does not use the frequencies which i mentioned in my earlier post, then the Caradon Hill page must be incorrect then. For the Caradon Hill page it states SDN ch21+,BBCB ch22+,ArqA ch24-,D3+4 ch25+,ArqB ch27-,BBCA ch28+ (local ch30,com7 ch31,com9 ch36,com8 ch37 at a future date !).If these are wrong it requires updating with the correct information.Although one thing which is correct,Caradon Hill is and will remain (barring future frequency changes) a group A aerialed horizontally polarised transmitter and as such only group A aerials (or group K alternative) should be fitted instead of group W wideband aerials on group A only masts. On the Stockland Hill page it states ArqA ch22-,D3+4 ch23+,SDN ch25-,BBCA ch26+,ArqB ch28-,BBCB ch29+ (com7 ch32,com9 ch 36,com8 ch37 at a future date !,no local mux ?).Also if this is wrong it too requires updating with the correct info.Stockland Hill like Caradon Hill is also a group A areialed horizontally polarised mast.If both these pages are correct then both Caradon Hill and Stockland Hill are both broadcasting on frequencies 22,25,28,so the above affected frequencies are clashing as such.If i am wrong then i apologise, but for once i am sure that i am right this time !

Mark Fletcher: Sorry, I managed to get Caradon Hill and Beacon Hill mixed up. Still, the reason for Stockland Hill's restriction is more to do with Crystal Palace low-power multiplexes than to do with Caradon Hill high-power.

Yes, there will be some interference between Stockland Hill commercial muxes and Caradon Hill PSBs. In general, though, the more rugged terrain means that there will be less of a clash than between Stockland Hill and Crystal Palace COMs.

Why do I get iTV Wales on ITV plus when viewing regional programmes? Also I get the subtitles to adverts for English ads whilst getting thevWelsh adverts. A friend in Beer has the same problem. We have Humax Freeview recorders if that makes a difference.
