Not exactly sure what you mean by "population" problems, however, if it's actually the Sudbury transmitter that you're supposed to be receiving, I can't trace any reported faults either by Freeview or the BBC. Without a full postcode, it's not possible to look at predicted reception for your location and which transmitter(s) you may/should be receiving.
Have you changed anything around moved any/added any equipment. It may pay to check all your coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them. Flyleads are a common problem, try swapping/changing them. See what signal strengths and quality you are getting for the multiplexes shown in your TV's tuning section. Also check that your downlead looks undamaged (especially if it is old) and that your aerial seems intact and pointing in the correct direction.
Problematic connections, water ingress etc. can seem to affect reception of just an individual or several multiplexes.

Freeview Sudbury is broadcasting Sony Movies on two channels. Do you think that one of these should really carry Sony Classic Movies?

Rex Watson: Sony Movies recently moved to COM6, however it is also still being carried on its previous multiplex on LCN 792. Nothing has been announced regarding when this arrangement will end, or what will replace the old version of Sony Movies. Sony Movies Classic can be found on the local mux in areas that have a local TV station on LCN 7 or 8.

I understand Forces TV, channel 96, is not available via Sudbury. Is this a permanent, will will it become available at a later date? If so, when?
Thank You

Forces TV in on the COM7 multiplex which isn't broadcast from Sudbury. It's a temporary multiplex only broadcast from 25 main transmitters which will close by June 2022.
Unless Forces TV negotiate a deal with a multiplex operator to move to one of the other multiplexes, the situation won't change before then.

This is the second report I've seen about the ArqB/COM6 multiplex from the Clacton transmitter, yet no-one seems to have any Planned Engineering or Faults listed.
Mind you Freeview stupidly think your "preferred" transmitter is Sudbury whilst predicting better reception of all multiplexes from Clacton!
Check in your TV Tuning section that you are tuned to Clacton for COM6, UHF C46. Sudbury is in virtually an identical direction from your locale but on C37 for COM6.
You could try contacting Arqiva enquiries@arqiva.com as I think contacting Freeview for faults is like banging ones head against a wall unless you want repeat advise on how to retune - which by the way I do NOT recommend, if signals are missing retune just clears you current correct tuning!

For the past 4 - 6 weeks my ITV and many freeview channels have cut out completely every day around 6p.m and only returned around 11p.m. at night. My BBC channels haven't been affected at all.
Retuning makes no difference to this situation.
I am in IP1 are and my aerial is pointed at Sudbury.
Although for years I have a very inefficient aerial setup, I have never had this problem for so long before. Any ideas why this is currently happening?
(I don't intend to spend any more money on improving reception as, from my point of view, allowing for 90% of programmes everywhere being repeats of repeats, I find it offensive even having to pay for a licence - we should all get a rebate for the past 10 years. If I could purchase a radio licence as in days of yore I would get rid of my tv!)
